Description

So, finally I was able to find some jewel beetles, but just the really small and common ones so far. Like Anthaxia nitidula, really common over here. This isn't the first jewel beetle I've seen this year, that honor goes to Anthaxia morio, which is nowhere nearly as pretty. And these guys can be even prettier if you come around female one, that one has green or blue elytra with red head and thorax, but even the males are pretty with their emerald green with just a hint of gold.

Also, can we talk about the damn pollen? It's everywhere and it coats my camera, me and whatever I'm trying to shoot. It's obnoxious, but at least it's not as bad as it was couple years back, when we had mountains of it.
