Description
Usually the animals I feature have some redeeming quality, whether it's aesthetic or being genuinely useful. I'm struggling to find any for this particular warble fly (Hypoderma diana), whose larvae live under skin of deer and bucks and when they hatch, they leave gaping holes in the skin of the animal they lived in. Not a pleasant thought.
There is also something about the way this fly looks, that makes it so incredibly ugly.
