"It came through the fog, silent at first. We couldn't see it, but we felt it, our chests and feet trembling with each one of its steps, setting off car alarms. Its raucous bellows rang through the town, carrying across the deserted streets and the fields. It never seemed to react to us, as it trudged mournfully through desolate civilization, the cries echoing in the fog.

Then we saw it. And those eyes, man. Like an animal's, glistening in the dark when light shone upon them. And just as it appeared, it receded past our petrified forms, as we stared at it in fear, the tentacled forms merging with the watery curtains."
