After escaping from Eggman’s base, Mega was able to explain the situation with Sonic and his new found power. “There’s still something I don’t understand….I get that you’re my guardian and all, but what exactly are you trying to protect me from? I mean Eggman I can understand, but you’re making it sound like it someone worse….” asked Sonic. Mega stopped walking for a moment to speak with Sonic.
“Honestly I’m not sure myself…the elder wasn’t very specific….nor did I even question it….all I know is that my job is to protect you with my life….” said Mega with sincerity. “Wait! You mean you didn’t choose to be my guardian!? He just gave you the job, no questions asked!?” questioned Sonic, fearing that Mega is doing it against his will. “Well yes, but I don’t mind, I mean….it’s what I was trained to do after all…”
responded Mega honestly. Sonic grew even more worried, he understood that Mega is doing his job, but also wonders if he would really want to be his guardian.

They continued their walk when a familiar pink hedgehog called out to the duo. “Sonic! You’re ok! I was so worried about you! I’m glad you were able to escape!” called out Amy. “Oh boy….” thought Sonic, knowing what will happen. “Say who’s she? I’ve never seen her around before” asked Amy. Mega then tries to formally greet her. “Oh hello, allow me to introduce myself, I’m Mega the Techog. I’m Sonic’s personal guardian.” said Mega. “Guardian?” questioned Amy. “It’s a little complicated Amy….but yes, Mega here is my guardian….” confirmed Sonic. Amy starts to get a little flustered, getting the wrong impression that Mega and Sonic are together. “Whoa whoa whoa….hold up….the only one who’s going to be Sonic’s ‘guardian’ is going to be me….” said Amy in frustration. Mega was confused about the situation and tried to be nice to her. “I don’t understand why you’re upset, I don’t mind sharing the position of guardian with you. Actually it would be of great help” said Mega, which only seemed to upset Amy even more. Sonic, understanding the situation, tried to calm her down. “Amy wait, calm down. It’s not what you think! Mega is-” asked Sonic before he gets interrupted. “I know who she is Sonic! I’m not letting her take you away!” said Amy as she then pulls out her piko piko hammer. “Don’t worry Sonic, I break the spell this girl has on you!” assured Amy.

Mega then understood the situation and then tried to reason with her by explaining his story. “Wait, you got it all wrong! I didn’t put any spell on Sonic! I really am just a guardian to him!” said Mega but to no avail, Amy began her attack. “Oh I’m sure you say that to every guy you come across! Sorry but your charming beauty isn’t going to work on me you man stealer!” yelled Amy while Mega kept dodging her attacks.
“Charming beauty? Man stealer? Hold on! I think I understand what’s going on” thought Mega, now actually realizing what’s going on. “Ladies please stop fighting!” yelled out Sonic. Amy stopped swinging her hammer and Mega stopped dodging. “Sonic why are you defending her? Can’t you see she’s trying to take you away from me?” said Amy. “It’s not like that Amy…Mega here is only doing her job….there’s nothing between us….” assured Sonic. “It is as Sonic said…Amy was it? I apologize for the confusion….” said Mega. Realizing her mistake, Amy tried to apologize to Mega. “I’m so sorry, I thought you two were going out together….I didn’t think you meant being Sonic guardian literally….” apologize Amy. “It is alright….still…being called a charming beauty was a bit flattering” said Mega as he blushed more than usual. “Huh? Why are you blushing?” asked Sonic and Amy. “Oh it’s just….calling a guy like myself beautiful is very unusual, but I do appreciate the compliment” said Mega. Both Sonic and Amy had the look of shock and utter confusion as they heard the sudden revelation. “YOU’RE A GUY!!??” yelled both Sonic and Amy. “Oh my apologies, was my appearance really that confusing?” said Mega with embarrassment. Both Sonic and Amy were embarrassed. “Let’s just go back and forget this whole thing even happed…” said Amy. “Agreed…” said Sonic. The trio then walked back to the village together. “Perhaps I should work on my appearance so this sort of mistake doesn’t happen again…” thought Mega on his way to the village.
