Darkness Decends

As the trio make it back to the village, Tails runs over to Sonic. “Sonic you’re ok! I’m so glad you made it back!” said Tails as Sonic smiles to see his friend.
“I’m glad you’re not hurt as well, what happened while I was gone?” asked Sonic. Tails begins to inform him about the fire and how everyone has been working on putting it out, Knuckles, Shadow, and Silver also show up and have a lot of questions.

Mega looks at them and senses some hostility toward Sonic. “Somehow I knew you would be the center of all this, what did you do this time?” asked Shadow. “Look Shadow it was an accident, even I’m still not sure myself as to what’s going on…”said Sonic with a tone of confusion in his voice. “Well whatever it is, it got the Master Emerald’s attention….”said Knuckles. “Master Emerald?” questioned Mega. Silver looks over at Mega and notices the mark on his forehead. “Oh hello miss, who might you be? Do you have any idea of what’s happening by chance?” asked Silver. “My my, aren’t you very polite….I’m not sure how to explain what’s going on but I will try my best”
said Mega.

After explaining the heart of light and why Mega’s connection with Sonic, everyone started to understand the situation. “Guardian huh? Guarding him from what exactly?” questioned Tails. “I’m not sure exactly….I never really questioned it….I sort of just jumped right into it without a second thought” admitted Mega. “So what you’re saying is….you’re stuck with Sonic for the rest of your existence?” asked Knuckles while trying not to laugh. “You’re one to talk Knuckles….shouldn’t you be guarding the Master Emerald? I mean you’re its guardian after all” said Sonic in a mocking tone. Overhearing that Knuckles is a guardian, Mega gets really excited. “She looks happy” said Tails, not knowing the truth. “Well about that, the truth is that I’m actually a g-” said Mega but suddenly stopped himself mid sentence, sensing a strong dark aura.

Everyone looks at Mega with worry. “Mega what’s wrong?” asked Sonic. Mega was trembling a bit, he looked up and began to tremble more with fear. “What are you loo-” said Shadow as he turns to look as well and stops talking as well. Everyone else looked up as well as they a large shadowy figure closing in on the planet. “What is that?” asked Amy. There was a moment of silence until Mega spoke up. “I believe that is the reason why I’m here….”said Mega, foreshadowing the events that are about to unfold.
