ok. so now im designing sets for the show, really driving it home. im real happy with how this is all turning out. i referenced all my boss's comics, looked up a graphic style, researched some awesome colors. and-it looks like a goddamn mission hill background.
oh well. im happy with it and it suits the characters well. enjoy! more to come.
all artwork copywritten 2006 fatkat animation/ inside music.

iΒ΄ve no idea what mission hill is but i definitely like it, reminds me of the ren&stimpy-style which was i guess inspired by older cartoons. i can imagine powder toast man living there.

This is hot mike, great composition and colour work. the one thing i might suggest is using a lighter tone for the linear work, maybe even a coloured line for the outlines, it would in a way lend itself more to complimenting with the character's black line work rather than trying to compete with it. Nonetheless rockin stuff, expecially love them bottles of moonshine

thanks for the crit man! i did a few tests with the linework, and to be honest, i wanna make this look like an old style cartoon. what im going to do, which i found looks awesome, was color the black lines a charcoal color, and the black lines on the characters will be colored with a black tone. it works real well!
i do appreciate a good crit every now and then, its great to get other artists opinions on things!

It's just a college project thing that i'm animating in 3dsmax, about a girl that steals an egg off a bird. The bgs are just gonna be the bare charcoal line on top of some dirty watercolour wash. here's a character rotation [link] , there's a panda at the end too [link]

its still in extremely early development, but it sounds like this show is a go. the clients wanna see alot more outta me, which is reassuring, but still. itd be rad to get an apprentice on this, but good luck on that!

thank you hahaha....yeah, i dunno. i just got this big collection bookset called " archetecture: in the 20th century". its two books just on modern buildings and designs, and its fantastic. needless to say, ittl be a big reference for my style in this show.

my boss was asking for some stuff idea wise, and i told him some of my ideas, he seemed to be down for it. and on top of that, this background is for the show that im designing all myself, so all the creative works is from me. reguardless, youre getting a show outta me!

If anything makes it look like mission hill, its the colors. and the line drawings of just color like the frames on the wall. other than that i love the hell out if it.
