All About Lily Chou-Chou is a astoundingly confusing and astoundingly beautiful and thought-provoking film. I've never seen such a use of color and scenery used like that before (Zhang Yimou is big on color, but in a different fashion). Plus the acting was great, too. And the music blew me away. That's always a good thing.
You'll probably get a lot of the imagery I used here if you've seen the film before. The boy in the center is Yuichi, the poor sod.
Anyway, I don't think this will be the last Lily painting of the lot. I'm not really satisfied with the way it turned out, but hey, that's self-criticism for ya.
The blue stuff is water, BTW.Watercolor, pencil, gel pen and Photoshop (for contrast/sharpening).

God damn you just have such a unique way of doing things. *stares* The water does indeed look like water I must say and I love how the fish is just... from water into grass. Such interesting transitions in this piece.. it's all so beautiful. I love the use of color, and the composition flows most wonderfully. All the details around the flower are just.. yeah.. everything emerging in an almost dream like way -- or like, a collage rooting from a single song or image. O__o the person in the middle fits perfectly too, the grass and sky around them making me just go... Guh. ... ... X_x

Wait for it...audible comments..okay here we go.
I like the hair, lovely shades of black and feathery. The grassy green and the eyes int hem, its so cool. Lovely fading and solid shades, all around in this piece it is really solid! Pretty butterflies, and red...things? What are those? They are neat. The blue and green is so flourescent against the grays in the background. Waah just noticed the mix of clouds and waves. Wow, how do you do this stuff? Its just so imaginative and every piece is its own and original. The people, and the things intermingling with the people are cool, I love how you always do that sorta stuff with gel pens.

The red things are kites. You have to see the movie to really get the gist of why I put them in there.
It took a lot of work trying to wrestle the watercolors into looking like actual water, lemme tell ya.

god ive wanted to see this movie for about like..three years now but it never came around here in limited relase nor have i seen a copy on dvd -_- man this is amazing great job

The US Region 1 DVD is available from Amazon and other places. You could always try there, that's what I did.
