Brass Beast and stock still stay to be the best picks. Well Now with the Brass Beast to be simply the best.

OKay
Secondary weapon: Ambassador
Melee: Spy-cicle
Secondary PDA: Dead Ringer
Building: Sapper

Menaria In reply to Witchy-Ally [2015-04-09 18:33:37 +0000 UTC]

Ambassador = Alright. Diamindback works too though.
Spy-cicle = you don't want to disarm yourself, even for sake of surviving flames. That's what you have dead ringer after all. Use default knife.
rest is good.

I personally like the HUO. Not the fact that it eats ammo or scares spies. But the fact that put in the right spot, such as doors ect.Β  You are able to do more damage that way as they run past, so bodyblocking is double the help. Ofcourse just my opinion

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Menaria In reply to Sendaga [2014-11-14 08:19:16 +0000 UTC]

well as I mentioned somewhere already, the damage from burning is around 30-40 in total. It's neither much, nor it's a good trade for suchΒ  ammo loss.

Sendaga In reply to Menaria [2014-11-14 09:32:55 +0000 UTC]

That makes sense. I tend to use it, mainly to find spys without the pyro. Helps alot. But as you say the damage is not worth it most of the time

Why would you need an extra ammo when you have a dispenser next to you 24/7? Also reduced damage? It's never a good trade.

I know Heavy's pain, previously today i had a match with an Engie who wouldn't place his dispenser somewhere where we could conveniently access it. And he didn't upgrade Dispenser range until late game. Had to waste money on one point of Ammo Capacity.

Hmm... I've always played with good TF2ers, so this normally doesn't happen... but I CAN see it happening.
Now, irrelevance.~
Though, normally there are no Medics on the team, so to help out I choose him, but really, I am the most skilled with Pyro, Sniper or Spy. Dispensers would be good enough to heal team-mates but the Medic's Medigun is much stronger, and so if a TF2 MvM server doesn't have a Medic and a bad Engie, they most certainly are screwed, sir.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Menaria In reply to ThreeLittleFillies [2014-06-02 07:47:10 +0000 UTC]

Man.... In what age are you living?
Medic with Kritzkrieg is mandatory on every map now and Pyro is plain useless on any 2cities map.

Also even a bad medic can greatly support thee team, unless he stands in place and do nothing.

The team is screwed if they -indeed- have a bad engineer and Heavy. But I am not entirely sure how it is possible to be bad at playing somebody who literally just stand and shoot.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 3

iWantcoal In reply to Menaria [2014-06-20 19:39:18 +0000 UTC]

It was a long time since I last played mvm, but medic is NOT mandatory for all maps... at least in my opinion. For most of the expert missions/advanced, a medic can make your teammates output way more damage, but it really depends on the mission. If the mission as a bias towards giant waves of bots, like 2 cities, then the shield could do very well. But for missions that consists of constant steamrolls, the shield can barely help. In mannslaughter I remember something along this: we are dying too much and the medic doesn't have enough people to heal, and usually dies before he can uber. Now the medic may just be bad, but I think that says something: a medic can critboost a teammate for more damage, but he can't deal damage by himself; so in steamroll missions, one more source of damage seems better than a companion booster. (we won after the medic changed to second heavy)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Menaria In reply to iWantcoal [2014-06-20 19:48:03 +0000 UTC]

Yeah Medic is very questionable on Experts, but then again, Expert missions should be restricted only for the people that actually ARE experts in mvm. Medic or not - everything might work as long as your team knows what to do. For smaller missions and less experienced players - it's better to have this shield and crits.

legitCaveJohnson In reply to Menaria [2014-06-05 19:34:44 +0000 UTC]

Pyro CAN be useful on Manhattan, if you can glitch the wave. Simply airblast the bomb-carrier into the grinding gears, and it will be sent back soon enough. If you're really good, you can airblast the carrier so that the bomb falls right at the kill-zone, so robots pick it up and die, resetting the clock.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Menaria In reply to legitCaveJohnson [2014-06-05 19:48:39 +0000 UTC]

Nope, giving a precious spot in the team for a pyro that can reset a bomb (which has a timer anyway) and airblast a few rockets won't do much good to the team. Also the only real available spots for Pyro would be if we replace Demoman/Sniper/Spy or Soldier. Giving away an anti-medic or constant minicrits from banner simply isn't worth it.

On the other hand, sure even a team full of combat medics might somehow work and win, but that's only if we are dealing with people experienced in MvM. Those guides are for people that are pretty new to the whole thing, so that's why this oh-so-evil metagame is promoted. It's simply the most failsafe plan.

I live in the age where I love your strategies.
The Medic is, yes, very crucial to a team. But as expressed many times before, can be stressful to those who do play as him and somewhat unfair to those who fight over who will be healed or 'Uber'-ed. Yes, the Pyro may seem very boring and like a useless character but every class has a gun, even if they just stand there and shoot, and shooting will kill Robots and your enemy team. The flamethrower is very basic, but harder to practice with because you must target as certain enemy and hit then from up-close. It will deal more damage and the 10 second afterburn will help your teammates especially if you set fire to many people at once. Back to the Medic, yes, he heals. Yes, he gets kill-assists quite easily and all that stuff, but he only has two weapons, considering the Medigun's use. And the Syringe gun, though fast and efficient, isn't the strongest. The bone saw, you have to go up-close to kill. Β

Menaria In reply to ThreeLittleFillies [2014-06-04 07:40:41 +0000 UTC]

Alright allow me to put something straight, because you seems a little lost in the world of MvM.
the "whatever just to deal damage" rule absolutely not apply here. If you take medic and seek some ways to deal damage with him, it's simply not how it works.
Every class has its job and they should focus mainly on that.

Medic heals.
Scout collects money.
Engineer supports with dispenser.
Soldier supports with banner.
Heavy bodyblocks.
Pyro destroys tanks.
Demo/Sniper/Spy kill medics.

Anything that goes over that list is not important. And if -let's say- Medic wastes his precious time on shooting robots with his weak syringes instead of healing, building his shield and deploying it against robots, then he is simply considered a bad medic.

About damage - you either pick a class that deal the most of it or don't deal it at all. If you want to wreck robots, take Heavy/Soldier/Demoman. (or Sniper/Spy if you're good with them. Or even Pyro on some maps). There is simply no half-measures on MvM and -again- fooling around with a flare gun, shotgun, syringes, melee weapons or anything that does not deal the top possible damage is considered as a waste of time and spot in the team.

I'm glad to hear that you like my guides, but you have a lot to learn too, buddy.

There is 1 and only 1 upgrade and use for the medic's syringe gun. Mad Milk Syringes. Shoot one or two, then switch back to the kritzkrieg, and heal away.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Menaria In reply to legitCaveJohnson [2014-06-05 19:48:50 +0000 UTC]

Sure, that works, but isn't necessary. Scout is doing just fine with his milk and it's not like every single robot needs to be milked. The rest of the team is supposed to get resistances either way.
