I think Chrysalis is not that stupid as she sounds...
Yeah, she really is arrogant, insolent, mischievous... But, hey! She is Chrysalis! Nothing out of her standars for her, neh? Also, for her being able to conquer Equestria is a matter of personal pride, and conquer Equestria reduced in this state... No, such an achievement would not be satisfying enough for her ego. In addition, she also has to "lick her wounds", but proud as she is she prefers to give the impression of being strong and, if desired, also magnanimous in her own way... too proud to imply the opposite, and her prideis already been hurt enough until today.
Or so I hope for her... because the only alternative is seeing her against a whole nation full of ponies hurt, upset and bloated with resentment, not exactly inclined to let themselves threaten again... and this does not seem at all "hygenic" for her...
