Description
I figured, what the hell, I still have this poplar lying around why not learn on it. The end grain is still hairy but I definitely am getting a better feel for the gouges and gauging thickness. Also the 1st time using my new midi chuck. So far I love it! Maybe I'll finish this with poly or something, maybe I won't. After all it was just an experimentRelated content

Thanks, Actually, that's not the tenon but an intentional ring I left for the hell of it. The tenon was much smaller and I ground it off with a belt sander.

Experiments are still valid pieces to finish properly. (Thus far, I have only had about a dozen projects I honestly couldn't call experiments at the time.)
Interesting that you left the tenon on. Many decide the tenon is a mark of not being complete, and then there are those who turn art on an advanced scale who'll leave a smaller tenon on to give the appearance of 'floating'. Nice figure in the wood too.

I dunno but she trashed the joint, rang up my phone bill and tore off in my car. That girl is nothing but trouble!
