Well, I did this during camp. It was on the back of a realism drawing I screwed up on. Meh. I got a little bored. Then I used watercolor pencils to color/paint it.The outcome is a little wierd, but at least it's not anime... XDDD I like this kind of style because it includes whatever is in my mind at the moment. It's a good cure for artists' block. I should do it more often because people like works like this that I do. ^^

I tried to balance out the light and dark side... only because the green wing is a little too huge. So I used big chains on the other side. Yes, I know chains don't look like that, but I can do whatever I want so there. ^^ Since it was an ink-first drawing there are a few mistakes on it. I stuck my logo below the heart. I think I did a bad job at THAT only because it kinda kills the picture a little bit. (I've decided to logo everything that isn't anime or photography because it's more original.)

I kinda played with the colors a bit on PSP so it looks a lot better. I used a lot of water while painting it, so excuse the picture looking a bit shriveled up. If I had known I was going to paint, I wouldn't have used copy paper. I brought my watercolor block with me that I still have yet to use. When we went to that art studio at camp the last day in Studio Time, she gave us watercolor paper and brushes and paint... and ever since then I've been dying to get watercolors in a tube and try them out. I wonder if they're expensive? Only cuz I might end up buying a whole bunch. The artist there taught us a few of her techniques that I'd like to try out myself... but for now I'll stick to warercolor pencils and caked watercolors that I barely use. x_x Markers are so much easier.

MATERIALS USED: Micron 05 brown inking pen, Faber Castell watercolor pencils. All on copy paper.
