Description Sorry for submitting twice in one day and acting like a loser.

Yep, well, I'm using my Copics a lot more than my other markers now, and I think it's something I should be proud of, I guess. I took the time to organize them and spread them out on my coffee table and shoot a picture of them out of boredom. Like someone in the art scene forum once said, Copics are an artist's greatest treasure. Plus it's great when you have tons of them. I don't have tons per se, but I have quite a few if you compare my current situation to the point in time where I was once dying to own just one stinkin' Copic because I had no clue where they were sold and for how much, plus the price range was beyond my reach until I recieved my first set when I was 13 and they started selling them at an art store not too far from my area.

So, here's my stats: Pictured are all the alive markers that I have, plus my collection of multiliners. 94 markers total, not including doubles of certain colors and dead markers. If I include doubles and dead ones, I'd definetly have well over 100. Plus I have 9 multiliners; they're becoming much more reloable than Microns IMHO, although I can only find black ones. D:

How do I afford all this? Well, I'm probably one of the only kids in the world these days that still has per family buy her things. :0 My aunt bought me some, my dad gives me allowance money that I use to buy some, and my aunt bought me some from my old set, and some markers here are actually from that set, and I got about 3 as a birthday gift from a friend. The multiliners came in a set, except for my 0.3 which I bought at a store... it's actually dead and it's replacing the 0.3 from the set that I misplaced at the time. The only other Copic products I own are a sketchbook and a bleedproof pad. I'd kill for some manga paper and an airbrush though. :<

Once again, I apoligize for submitting once again. This might just be scrapped. See yas.

Thanks! Nope, I've never used those. The brown is Sakura Micron and the black is Copic. I really like the Copic ones.

where can I buy copic markers?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mew-Sumomo In reply to Yovinah [2007-04-30 22:11:55 +0000 UTC]

You can buy them online on places like eBay, Dick Blick or Copicmarker.com, but I usually buy mine at any local (but high-quality) art store, like Pearl Paints. If you've ever heard of Lee's, then they sell them there, too. They don't have them everywhere, though, because they're pretty expensive since they're imports. Keep searching though!

Mew-Sumomo In reply to rainbowdolphin [2007-02-24 01:35:07 +0000 UTC]

xDD I use the sketch ones. The original ones are too confusing; I prefer the brush tip.

rainbowdolphin In reply to Mew-Sumomo [2007-02-24 09:53:25 +0000 UTC]

Ahh...I use original I wanted the sketch... but the el stupido art store didn't have the sketch...and last time I went, they had only the black sketch and it was running low...and there was only one there. So basically in the entire store, there was 1 sketch marker ;__;

Oh, that's awful... D: st00pit art store! ]:< Well, the one near me seems to be running low. They didn't have very many to begin with and when they first arrived, people bought them like crazy. D: They have virtually no good skin colors because everyone got them so quickly. How sad. lol.

oh shit!!!!!!
i don't think you really need that much! that's 94 x 5= $470!!!

it's not really the materials that makes you the best artist. it matters on how you use them.
i try to make the best out of my Copics. i'm trying to earn money for my parents by art cuz we're kinda in debt. Y_Y

Mew-Sumomo In reply to sasukekakashi12 [2007-02-24 01:34:39 +0000 UTC]

Wow, I've never taken a look at the price before! D:

You know, you're right about the whole "how you use them" thing... some people have the right materials but don't know how to use them... like me and oil pastels as an example. I hope you get some money though!

wait, you didn't know hiw much your Copics cost?
and yeah, it's better to get only the materials you would really be comfortable with and ones that work out very good for ya! lol

Mew-Sumomo In reply to Stephanie-Chivas [2007-02-24 01:35:53 +0000 UTC]

Hm... trias? Well, I was actually going to make a thread in the Art Scene forum about them because I haven't gotten a chance to use them yet. I know nothing about them, so I have no tips as to how to use them just yet. Sorry!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Stephanie-Chivas In reply to Mew-Sumomo [2007-02-24 17:18:46 +0000 UTC]

That's okay. You got any tips on how you use your copics, maybe I could try that and see what happens. They can't be too different. I'm just so crap and colouring stuff, at least on the comp you can delete if you do it wrong.

After separating them, my dad helped me store them all in a big Folgers' coffee thing. It's a miracle that they all fit. He needed the table afterwards for organizing some worky papers. xD

Well, if you have a local art store near you, you might be able to find some there. Websites such as Dick Blick sell them as well. Lots of online sites sell 'em.

Nope, I use Copic sketch markers. The regular not-brush-tippy ones are too hard for me; I tried them once. D: At an art store. They confused me. xD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mew-Sumomo In reply to havockid [2007-02-25 22:44:11 +0000 UTC]

Well, apparently they're a lot smaller than regular Copics and they have less ink. They're generally meant for beginners, and they don't come in a lot of colors (only 144). But, yeah, they're a bit cheaper.
