Sous la Mer=Under the Sea in French.This one, well, God... I started it on Monday, did some more of it on Tuesday, and finished touching it up on Wednesday. I only did it cuz I liked the color scheme of Paluu's skirt in my last pic, XDDD
After doing Karin, I had the urge to draw a girl in pigtails. And I wanted to draw a mermaid. It took about almost... 2 hours. Wow, that's a lot.
I never usually take that long.This one is for for 3 reasons: 1. I saw her pic in Newtype, 2. It's a belated B-day present, and 3. I kinda used her eye technique to do the eye.
well, she's not an OC or anything... not much to say about it... well, enjoy!
EDIT: Materials used: Marker (brush pens for most of it, Copics for the water), for the skin and several other parts I combined markers and Prismacolor pencils, oil pastels for the shell thing she's sitting on, dry pastels for the yellow glow and the darkening of the water on the bottom, and white ink for all the dots. I inked it with an 0.1 mm. UniBall pen. It's actually good, considering I destroyed my 05 by flattening the tip, and I think I left my 05 sepia one at my aunt's a few days ago... (sobs) I SUCK! W00T!

The shading of her face, hair and body are lovely, as is the anatomy and composision overall. I think the shading on the tail and the shell is a little rough-looking, but passable.

I like this piece, mermaid under water, Its very well drawn, especially the fact that it's traditional based. The colouring is very good, especially the rendering of the underwater spheres. You drew the character's expression, figure and clothing pretty well> This is a pretty good piece overall. The colours again, just shows a lot of skill, especially in her fins and the material flowing from her hand.
Critiscism: Theres not much i dont like about this, the only item would be the bulle effect, it looks more like plain white dots. Bubbles perherps shouldnt be rendered "White".

Very nice. Although the coloring on the water is great for realism, it looks like the surface of the water is not horizontal or level. The seaweeds do interect with the water currents but probabaly not as much as the character's hair. The anatomy of the shoulder should be worked on more. Everything else is fine, including the pose and expression. Overall, I would still applaud this picture for its good composition and color.
