This is georgeous! Well... I really love the look of old parchment. The alien creature really creeped me out, especially the evil-looking fetus on the tube. Good job!

Thanks to you I now have goosbumps all over me. Disturbing, fascinating and eerie are the first words that appears in my mind. If I found, or saw, a document like that in real life it would scare me senseless.
The paper is very nicely done with it's burnt edges. The text and the depiction of the creature could very well have been written/drawn in the 15th century. Just magnificient.
There's one little thing though, the text looks too homogen so to speak, where it meets the burnt edges one would think that it'd change its characteristics ie. fading out or bleeding a little but it's just a minor thing, it's a masterpiece in my eyes.

thank you... nice to know im serving up goosebumps... its hard to tell on this version but the text near the burns are all darkened somewhat... visit my journal for more detail... i really wanted to put a bigger version on DA but i couldnt for several reasons.

This is really incredible! Did you use other images to create the alien, or did you draw it? I only ask because this is under 'photomanipulation'. It seems so well-planned that it would be impossible to get it by any means other than freehand, along with lots of planning.
Very awesome!

Amazeing , the captions, the drawing and the burns all combine to ad a certain macab aura to this drawing. But what i would like to see even more is a non-disected version of this manifestation.

ha, thanks i tried to make this a very 'completed' work... and as for a non-disected version, you might have to use your imagination on that one.

Yeah, I will. Still think it would be cool.... I was just wondering about the human fetis like appendage, how would that work? and how would it stand y'know... I'm overly curious. I guess....its left to my imgination as you say. ^^

Very nice. I love the way you did the margins, reminds me of the works by da Vinci. Even though he never dissected an alien. The drawing is beautiful. Nicely detailed, and well executed.
A gruesome picture, but I love it

this is truly worthy of being a daily deviation
better than that even
it's fantastic
this is of incredibly high caliber
we should have a deviation of the month or something for this kind of work

brilliantly written and drawn, except for one mistake, other pages are visible!
it seems that on one hand you try to make it look like a single, old sheet of paper, indicated by the burn makes and holes.
on the other hand you have several pages visible on the left side, they would block the hole and usually prevent such burn marks.

hmm.. i never thought about that... i just assumed the parchment from ~ temabinastock was just one sheet with lines down it... but now it does look like other pages... thanks for pointing that out thanks for the comment.

upon lookcing clower at this piece, reading the texts that you have created and even upon the splayed images itself i am reminded of some stuff i had seen published by Games Workshop in a similar manner with the way that the Magos Biologis of the Imperium of Man would write about any form of Xenos, most notably Tyranids.
great work man, love the linework and the texts

sorry man, i didnt mean to lose you. ill explain things for you, Games Workshop makes a tabletop sci-fi wargame called Warhammer 40,000. it takes place in the very dark, grim gothic future of the 41st Millinium (i think i tore that spelling apart...oi). in this dark future, man has flung himself all across the galaxy and human technology has given way to mysticism, supersticion and the like. a good way to think of this is take the grim darkness of midevel times with the inqusition, warfare and all that political intrigue and slap high-tech with it.
anyway, technology itself is decaying in this timeperiod for humans. they dont know or understand much of what they have anymore. because of this (and many other reasons) those whom have made it their life to work with technology, science and all that stuff tend to be reffered to as 'Techno-Magi', and other such names. and it happens that that those that delve into the aspects of living things 'Biology, Botany, etc.) are part of the sect known as the 'Magos Biologis' (i may have torn the spelling of this apart as well).
with this in mnd, a lot of stuff that Games Workshop puts out in the way of sourcebooks, codices and such tend to have bits and pieces of fiction and stuff to go along with what the book or chapter is about...just to add some flavor to it. in one such rulebook for the Tyranid forces, they have a picture with writings very similar in voice to what your piece had.

Having recently studied Frankenstein in English, I can say that this image really does invoke images of a dark laboratory filled with bubbling crucibles... and the remains of this creature on a metal table with an anatomist poking about inside it with a scalpel... there's a really great story behind this image, it really stiumlates the imagination. Excellent work, and definitely one of my favourites.

I love the look of this it made me smile this morning. Esp what looks like a little footy. But it also makes me giggle in a dark, evil smirking sort of way.
How lovecraftian it is indeed, a macabre, a horror.
Of sorts. It holds a good placement in the abstract,
lovecraft inspired side of my brain. Even if it isn't,
lovecraft inspired Great job!
