Description
Commission for *nuancecm on the "crow" theme. I came up with this image, where the crows could be seen as the souls of those which were hanged there... Or maybe it's just some random crows
Pen & ink, tubular pen, washed ink on paper (13cm x 19cm).

Lovely light. I really like how the crows are simple black shapes. makes them look slighly unreal, or...may more real than real, as if you captured their very essence.

Okay, let's start with the background (since I always start with the bg) the stairs are wonderful, they look as if they're just itching to creak under the pressure of your feet, or break. The Moon really has a lovely glow into the clouds and the building that crumbling around the crows has a nice feel to them; the vines are a lovely touch ye know. And hm...THe crows. They just haunt over you like as scary as they may. The minimalistic details in most of them works well and makes them feel even more eerie then they would be usually. :3

Yeah, I feel like drawing the crows the same way I did with the cat on Old Town . Black silhouette with white eyes always works

When I first saw this, before even reading the description, immedatly I thought "The crows look like the souls of the people hanged.." and then, yeah. Made me happy to know that was kind of what you were going for.

I like the contrast of the intense use of black on the crows, compared to the much birghter backround, which is unusual for your wok, since most of the time you carry alot of deep blacks everywhere, with sparce white. I really like the perspective you used, it draws the eyes to the singular crecent moon above, as if thats the centerpiece of the work. Whats behind the hole in the wall to make it so pitch black?
