Well usually it's called a "magasin d'antiquités" or just "antiquités" (antiques), but "objets anciens" is also used.

I really like the subtle hints of a procession of madness here. What I read is that a clock/doll maker lost his wife, or perhaps could never get one in the first place. Like the story of Pygmalion, he seeks to create the perfect partner. The prototypes in the background, like the one on top of that shelf, indicates a failed yet elaborate mechanism. Evidently he is getting close to success, because he finally has a properly painted and constructed bride.
And yet one wonders, why build a wife when one is currently peeping through your windows, just waiting to be chloroformed and snatched?
Again I find your paintings fascinating, there is so much contained story within them. I am inspired just looking at them.

Amazing! All the little details are fantastic--the box of gears, the little clocks and music boxes, the folds in the bride's dress, everything is wonderful!
Great job, keep up the good work!

For some reason, the creepiest thing about this is the robot skeltion thing in the top corner. Love it though

Awesome!
I've always enjoyed your work. They have so much life inside of them, as if the characters and monsters are about to jump out into our world, and this picture is no exception. I could see this in either a Gothic comic or a horror movie.
Keep up the good work!

I love this!...its so eerie but comforting to me.The specimens are neat and I adore all the diffident clocks, I was thinking the other day that I miss the ticking of old clocks, and the selves with all the glass bottles is really cool my girlfriend's mother has one, not with as many through, but I love looking at all the diffident shapes and colors.oh and hourglasses are the best way to just watch time go bye.

My favorite detail might not have been intentional but I love how the gears in the robot seem to be a face peering out.
