Here's Dan Backslide... the former sneak of Roquefort Hall... coward, bully, cad & thief... & arch-enemy of the Dover Boys, from Chuck Jones' "Dover Boys", one of my all-time favorite WB cartoons.I also believe this is probably Mel Blanc's greatest voice role, every word that comes out of Dan Backslide's mouth is so forced & hilarious. I can listen to it over & over.

One thing I caught while watching the cartoon one day is this: If you can, freeze the picture when Tom leads the charge for Backslide's place. If you do it just right, in front of the hunting lodge sign, the way Tom was drawn MIGHT have been the inspiration for a character some fifty years later!
