Description
Once again a no reference picture of a FF character. After drawing Tidus for Brett, his sister Jasmine wanted one too. So she picked Rikku.
Now I happen to like drawing girls better, so Rikku just turned out LOADS better than Tidus.
Still used crappy no brand markers. The blending happened rather well.
Also I have to thank Tomoko-nyo for her marker tutorial. It helped me fix one thing in the way I was using my markers.

Thank you! I really worked on this piece even though it was a bit rushed, but you know when you give art out as a gift you try to make it look as good as possible in the time you have.

Well throw those damn K-Mart markers away, I can get you Prisma markers dirt cheap and other art supply stuff too.

It's not a girlfriend, its a little teenage girl who's obsessed with Sharie's character. So it's more like Sharie has groupies.
Well we shoud hang out some time next week. Maybe I can bring my computer down and you can fix all the drivers and get me some updates, because my computer is crazy!
I want Prismas. Prismas are good.

once again, you've made the hair, really well, work! one suggestion, maybe emphasize the collar bones because it'll add a little more detail to that area, but otherwise this is lovely. the scarf and blending is fab!

Yeah I was thinking about adding in some collar bone lines or something, but I've looked at a couple drawings of Rikku since I drew this, and they dont show any particular shading there....apparently the scarf is covering it up??? But I may add them into the original anyway. ^_^

awww! you're too much!
but color transitions are such a pain! Hey! if you're curious, Prisma color has a colorless blender for markers that you can use to blend, and it can be used with blending color pencil as well!

*l* Pay respect where respect is due!! And I LOVE your art so you know ^_^ that earns some respect.
I've heard about their blenders but I didnt know if it worked on all markers or just Prisma.
I want to save up for a set of Copic...;-; but they cost soooo much.
I think I'll have to go out and just get the Prismas and hope I win the lottery or get hit by lightening or something, to make the Copics appear.

Oh I live off of prismas! ^______^ Personally I think they're better than copic, but that's because I enjoy working with prismacolor so much.
I think as long as the marker is alcohol based like pirsmas it should be fine! ^_^
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
michiruokami In reply to alwzcokeacola [2004-04-23 18:39:42 +0000 UTC]
I've used Copic, but never Prisma...the only draw back to the Copic marker is that they are REALLY stiff. Harder to get flowing lines. BUT they are refillable. So the lesser of two evils is hard to find.
These markers are water based. -_- BUT the kids had like 100 different colors to play with, so that was great.

alwzcokeacola In reply to michiruokami [2004-04-23 18:45:28 +0000 UTC]
oh wow, impressive. the only drawback to pirsmas is that they're not refillable, but other than that, the colors are brilliant, i feel and you can make them look like watercolor even (if you work them right) but hey that takes time, too!

LOL! the markers and pencils are a super combination, too! and it's taken me around three years to do what i can with the prisma markers!
Another thing that was funny was that an illustration teacher in college yelled at me in my elective for using markers beacause they'd be streaky and after I did my peice called "breakfast" he took his word back a bit saying I pulled off it to look almost like watercolor! ^_^

michiruokami In reply to alwzcokeacola [2004-04-23 19:04:03 +0000 UTC]
Wow...three years is a long time o_o But you're totally pro with them ^_^
*l* Thanks hilarious since I had a teacher yell at student who used markers instead of watercolors for a project.
I guess they got the edges wet with a little alchohol so that the markers would run more and they ended up looking like a very convincing watercolor image, but I guess some of the colors ended up being a bit too vibrant so the teacher noticed and yelled at them.

alwzcokeacola In reply to michiruokami [2004-04-23 19:05:51 +0000 UTC]
lol the usually are more concerned about the streaks making it look unprofessional, actually! if you color like in circles it's not as bad, keeping it wet but still! insanity! X3

oh for skin tones with prismas, i use a ton of colors! Light peach base, tulip yellow, light tan, dahlia purple, and mabye another here and there, it's fun!
the prisma's peach is too bright in my opinion so i use light peach.

It really wouldn't be. I love the FFX series. Sadly, though, I own none of the games. I either borrow them from friends for a very very long period of time, or I rent them. As is the case with FFX2. But I'm STUCK. >>>>>.<<<<< It's been so long since I rented it... I really don't even remember where I'm stuck. I know it deals with Mindy, Cindy, and... whoever the third one is.

This is BAD. I can't even remember names, now. I need to play some FFX & FFX2 soon...

I dont recall anyone called that in FFX or FFX2. Of course I'm only to the Cloisters in FFX2.
This is were I reamain for 101 levels. I'm on lvl 49 I think. Slowly I will conqure it. *l*
I'd help you out if I knew exactly what you were talking about. ^_^;;

Lol. It's just a little after the Cloisters. ~.~ It's in the giant holes that all the Aons made. Infact, I believe they're the three sister Aons from FFX. Like I said, though, I'm not sure on names. I may have confused their names for someone else's.
I've got two save files. One where I'm running around in the cloisters trying to get through it (my characters are all about level 60-something). It's impossible! Or, so it feels... The other one, though, is where I'm stuck. ~.~

michiruokami In reply to Tsukiakari-Koneko [2004-04-23 18:49:43 +0000 UTC]
Hmm...I'm running around the Cloisters for only three reasons. Maybe four.
1. I've got an AP egg on each character so I've building up their dress spheres, so that each girls has at least four Masters.
2. I'm getting all my blue bullets.
3. I want 100%
4. I WANT TO KILL A DAMN MEGA TONBERRY!!!
OH yeah!!! The magus sisters! I know who you are talking about. I never got them in FFX because I didnt want to have to fight that many aeons.
They should feel impossible, they rank up at like 9,999+ hp.
And since there is like three of them x_x Have you tried hitting them with darkness as a Dark Knight?? Their def is really low and their acc is even lower.
Where are you stuck at?? Please dont tell me the end -_- *l* I cant help you there.

omg I missed the Dark Knight dress sphere too. Those stupid lifts in Bevelle are the ones to blame!! If you dont get on them in a certain order you cant get the sphere.
-_- *sigh*
I had to borrow my friends Action Replay and put in the cheat code, because that was the dress sphere I wanted the most. Normally I wouldnt use a cheat, but I just couldnt resist. I HAD to have it.

My problem with the Final Fantasy games is that I dont know what to do sometimes and I get discouraged. So I buy the guide and when I get stuck I refer to it.
I feel that's like cheating if you follow the guide to the 't'. But you know, I still messed up alot even with a guide to refer to every once in a while.
