Description thanks for the DD 8D

I did this back in 2008 so forgive me for not doing my own characters OTL
I am a big fan of Haruhi and really wanted to draw this. I did this tutorial for
a friend because she really liked the way I colored. If I knew I was going to
have a DD on this I totally would of draw something else. OTL;;
but hence this was done in 2008! I was younger and dumb

I use Copic Sketch Set 72 set (A) & (B) I buy my copics here [link]

I like fanart. I can tell you did a really good job, because I know what she looks like. ^_^
...now I wanna buy some markers so I can try coloring something... but I've never been good with markers. They would never go on even for me, always leaving a bunch of streaks.

Great tutorial, just a shame that copics are so damn expensive and don't last. I've had flesh colours run out on me after one drawing! Thanks for sharing!

the coloring looks a tad uneven, the paper seems not thick enough, you should try watercolor paper or kent for a nicer look. as for the coloring i'd suggest you to put an even lighter base color, using it in regular strokes all in one direction, then go over with the color of choice and then with a darker shade for shading, blending it in the color by using it once more.
congratulations on the DD anyways :3

This is a nice tutorial, it's quite easy to follow and I would attempt to do so if I had any idea where my copics were, and the pad for it. I think it would've been a lot better if the image you used wasn't traced, though. It feels kind of lazy to me how you basically copied the shading from another artist and picture, to be honest.

It's a nice tutorial though.

so glad it can help and I too agree I did this a long time ago when I was new to drawing and used temple's to practice. One of my friends asked me to do a tutorial for her so I happen to have this on my desk and so I took lots of pics XD I was lazy but at the time I didn't know this would be published as a DD did this in "2008" XD that and now I have taken classes to draw and what now so yeah I do agree with you ^_^

I totally would love to do another tutorial with my original cute characters ^_^ back then I was young and dumb XD

this is a nice tut and i noticed what you wrote about the way to use the rubber :3 heres a good tip next time you go shopping for thooese go for the black ones they might cost a bit more but you can rub as hard as you want to they dont riund the picture! :3

oh that is a good tip I'll go have to find that black one so cool I totally didn't know that thank you for the info

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GaudiFanYAY In reply to miemie-chan3 [2011-07-15 09:16:10 +0000 UTC]

the reason why is becouse the white rubber aborbs the pencil traces so they in time turns gray and starts to smear out the pencils and leaves traces while the black ones are welll allready black and are resistent to be affected my pencil and they dont lkeave traces :3

How do you avoid that overlapped look when applying one color to the same area? This is a great tutorial which lays it out very simply/cleanly.... a must for us copic users that are just starting out.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

miemie-chan3 In reply to GrnDrgn [2011-07-15 07:59:53 +0000 UTC]

oh what I do is use the colorless blender or use a 000 or 00 of the same tone like over and over till it blends together like watercolor
oh and your welcome it took years for me to figure out how to use the copics so I wanted to share the knowledge with other ^-^ so happy I could help ^-^

Wow! This was extremely helpful! I JUST got a few copics and have been a bit nervous about trying them on anything. Every time I think, "oh, wait! I have copics now!" I have an inked drawing (usually a commission) in front of me and I get freaked that I'll ruin it. So I've stuck to my Prismas so far. But now I'm eager to try the copics! Do you know if they work well alongside Prismas? My Prismas have been my babies for so long that I'm afraid they'll get jealous if I just drop them and start using copics. And their grandma (a friend from high school) will have his grandma senses tingle and come kill me for abusing his grand babies!

But regardless! This was an awesome tutorial! Thanks so much for making this! β™₯

well sometimes prismas and copics don't work and some lighter colors do work well ahhh I really can say 70% of the time both prismas and copics are good it just depends how much color you put I learned how to color with copics just by experimentation a lot @.@ I found a style of coloring I liked and style and stayed with it XDDD
