Description My versions of the Bara Magna robot and the Mata Nui robot. Using the same technique as the eyes on my Jack in the box MOC (here: on the BM robot's shoulder).

Now, there's one thing I'd like to see: a torso design (with instructions) that's about the part count/ size of the SM robot that has a piston thing in the mid section, like the MN robot, that only uses currently molded parts. I just really like the robotic prototype look.

Love what you did with the Spherus Magna Robot's right arm, and the scrappy look in general

did you use specific sets for those, or was this just digging into whatever you could get?...These are AMAZING.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MikeInTheBox In reply to BlitzkriegOmega [2014-08-06 14:29:00 +0000 UTC]

Mostly digging and see what I got, but I found a lot of old sets (like the Exo-Toa and Muaka/Kane-Ra) to be very useful for old grey pieces. Thank you by the way!

I NEED to know how you did those fingers on the Mata Nui Robot (The one Teridax pilots)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MikeInTheBox In reply to the-pieman [2014-05-27 19:10:30 +0000 UTC]

I used the T-bars that came with the Lego vikings sets (the light grey piece that connects to their shields), and I attached lower arms from Exo-Force robots to them. It's a pretty basic technique, everyone uses it.

I just used pieces from sets I have. I don't use Bricklink and I've never bought separate parts either.

The Bara Magna robot was a bit... Clunky/torn apart when Mata Nui rebuilt it, so asymmetry was in order.

These simply amazing These are the first models of Mata Nui and Makuta Nui (as I like to call the body when it's possessed by everybody's favorite Makuta ) I've seen and they look absolutely fantastic, especially the real body for Mata Nui, it looks exactly like it should....I don't remember what the robot found on Bara Magna looked like, so I'll just assume it's accurate >_>

Why are you doing black and white for the photos here?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MikeInTheBox In reply to Plague-Doc-Matteo [2013-01-27 12:15:17 +0000 UTC]

Because the MOCs themselves are black and white, and the red brick wall kinda gave off a red glow, which I didn't like.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Plague-Doc-Matteo In reply to MikeInTheBox [2013-01-27 23:18:30 +0000 UTC]

Oh...Hmmm well just down the saturation or use the color graph thingy to tone down the red, no need to kill all the color.

If you search 'Maelstrom' on Brickshelf (member search), click Maelstrom. The instructions for these MOCs should be there somewhere, I think

Good to hear you all like them ^^

I found the person on brickshelf, but dont see any instructions and I NEED to know how to build the Sherus Magna Robot's torso.
