Description
This was by far the most powerful stop on the tour. Just over 9900 fallen heroes lay here. The day before at the museum I saw the inscription in the garden "From the heart of our land flows the blood of our youth given to you in the name of freedom" I knew and understood what it meant, but this is where that was put into perspective. This is what it costs for us, and others to be truly free.Related content

I'm not an American and I don't realy like war, but sometimes it's necessary when talking won't help.
But this is just insane every time I see this, tears come creeping in my eyes.

If you ever have a chance to visit this one, I highly reccomend going. This is such a powerful place and it almost seems like the spirits of those boys are still there protecting the beach.

It is amazing how such a visual brings it home so much more than just a 'number' on a page!
Love the perspective you got here!

This is a very powerful place. I can't to this day describe how I felt..... There was amazement, sadness, respect, pride, and about 1000 other emotions.... It is an experience EVERY American should feel.
