Description the City Maintenance Robot, is my first successful attempt at designing one of the many humanoid robot designs that form a massive portion of personnel both in the Chrono forces and the Chronos Republic.

this is an M-2 series "GPU" (General Purpose Utility) Unit, assigned as a Section Administrator for City Maintenance, in "Central City".

the Majority of "GPU's" are outfitted with Class 3 (Drone) AI's, though the AI is housed in a fully functional Cyber brain, rather than just a reactive Processor, this and an extremely basic Learning Algorithm, allows them greater adaptability, and one in a thousand manage to develop into Class 2 AI's, at which point such a unit undergoes Self awareness testing, to determine if it has attained the level of self awareness necessary to receive Citizenship.

if it passes testing, then the Cyber brain is upgraded to full Class 2 AI Spec Hardware, its internal Extended Life Battery Banks, are replaced with an Active Chrono Column Power supply, and the Unit receives full citizenship status, and is to be acknowledged as an Individual with all the accompanying Rights and Responsibilities. most notably, the choice to carry on its current line of work, or to pursue something else.

Pretty cool! Some external audio receptors and maybe some kind of "facial cues" props on the face might really help. There are robots in the works with eye-brows and movable eyes to indicate understanding and where the robot is looking. I added some things like that to my Cyclops machine-life character in my stories and got a lot of positive comments, even from a robotic engineer in California!

I know that complicates the design, but without some kind of external inter-action cues, humans don't really react to robots as other than just machines.

i have considered that once or twice, I have already spent more than a year on this project, and accurately mimicking human like proportions has frankly been a pain in the rear, though i shall try making something workable after i finish the hands.

besides, the face seen in this image is actually a helmet like detachable outer shell, this particular one is essentially an ultra simplified hard hat.

also the audio receptors are hidden just beneath the edges of the helmet from this angle, as their integrated into a structural cross bar where the neck and head connect.

and even more than that, the M-2 series, is the oldest model still in service, as all of the original M-1 series have either been decommissioned, or have had their Cyber brains transfered to M-2 Series bodies, or better.

and the M series are labeled such since they where originally designed for military duty in the Chrono Forces, though they also saw use in the Chronos Republic for civilian uses, without their built in weaponry or the bulk of their combat programming of course. only recently in the third age has a true Civilian series of GPU been fully developed and gone into production.

current spec in the Third Age is the M-5 or the C-1 series, with the M-6 soon to hit production at the end of its compulsory testing period, all six M series lines look very similar though each successive series integrates new features and design improvements.

their is also an S series of Technician robots, though they are all associated to the Chronos Research foundation, which is a third quasi independent Scientific Research sector over which control is partially split between the Chrono Forces and the Chronos Republic.

What is Chronos? Time-travel story? Have a link? I am unfamiliar with your usage. The term Chrono Forces imply time usage of some kind.

its a collection of concepts, designs, and characters, generally encompassing several fictional organizations.

the Chrono forces comprise the pinnacle of the majority of my ideas, however i have never been able to put it to a solid story of any kind, beyond a bit of back history, and a Role play on an RP forum site, set on the capital planet of the Chronos Republic.

Abzahlung Redemption links
Third Age of the CF OOC topic: [link]
Third age of the CF: [link]
D/S/E: (not really important but contains a few of my much older designs) [link]

even still i continue to develop and refine my ideas, andf i have even figured out a system by which, each major revision of the Chrono Forces was portrayed as a new age, the current is the third age, before that, the second age whn the Chronos Republic was established and built by the Chrono Forces, and before that the first age when the Chrono forces where half the size they are now, and where establishing themselves as an army of multi dimensional mercenaries.

now they also function as the standing army of the Chronos Republic. a seperate yet linked organization, with a third scientific organization, control of which is split between CF High command, the CR's Senate, and the Scientific administration.

Oh. ALrighty then. It seems pretty dry stuff to me. I've played role-playing games since D&D was just 3 little books. You need to put yourself into the head of an inhabitant of that world to feel the streets, breathe the air and sweat the work of that place. That might help your designs and help organize your thoughts.

Easiest way to experience the history of it, is to throw yourself into it's muck and mire and look around. Your stuff has infinite promise and I'd like to see you develop your ideas more organically.

I think your inspiration might go into overdrive when that happens. ^__^ Happened to me. LOLOLOL
