Description part of my fighting for? series where i depict kids in protest rallies... once again, do they know what they're fighting for?

i have to make it clear though that protests here in the philippines are almost always political in nature... its almost always a stab at the current administration... they use issues, be it about a war in a foreign land, price increase, wage increases, heck even the price of pan-de-sal (a bread common in the philippines) to throw mud at the current administration whoever is seated there... and most of the time... these protest rallies get disperesed... rather violently at times...

kids have no place in rallies of this nature... they have no business marching with militants knowing that anytime rubber bullets or tear gas would rain down on them... they are victims of politicking... victims of mud throwing... this should not be.

---

[link]

i've covered a LOT of protest rallies... and i mean a LOT! and almost always... these groups bring kids along... probably sons or daughters of members of militant groups... i really dont like this idea... in the first place... why bring these kids? do they know why they're there? do they know what they're fighting for?

it's sad how these kids are treated in this manner. and how they're raised not to exactly think for themselves, but to think the way their parents think. at their age, they really have no place at rallies. they should be out enjoying their childhood and not being part of political affairs.

congrats on the DD. well deserved.

oh no.. they certainly are not given a choice... but let me clear up one fact... most protests here in the philippines are very political in nature... they use all types of issues to stir-up the administration... war in a foreign land... price hikes... tuition fee increase... any type of mud they can throw up the administrations face... that being the case... the administration almost always are quick to silence such... thus these protesters are disperesed... quite violently most of the time... and these kids, who surely have no business dodging rubber bullets, or getting tear-gassed are in the middle of the chaos... this should not be...

thanks for the comment. and i hope i didnt offend anybody.

I dont necessarily agree with your opinion but definately repect it. You can say the same about many other instances then, like why to people take kids to places of worship etc...

The pschology and social ways of upbringing children in Asia is primarily different from the West, where parents have a traditional bond of assimilating their kids in everything *they* may feel is beneficial - very different topics from N America, of course there will be a progression in this thought eventually like N America etc... but it will take some time and generations....

so when will we see a series of pictures about certain 'religious' groups who come knocking on our doors, using their children as human shields? in fact, its encouraged by one of these groups in their 'guide to connecting with non believers' eg, how not to get the door slammed in your face.

face it, protestors are possible the smallest, and least dangerous group in society who use children as an accelerant to meet an ends (unless their being shot at).

coca cola ads anyone?

at least they are fighting for a good cause.

oh yes for sure. it is only that i have never heard of a muslim strapped with bombs doing anything other then fighting for what he believes; which is usually to be left the fuck alone. i have no fear of him as i live in a country that does not impose its will (and sanctions) onto him and his family and people. and for fighting for true freedom i respect him.

but this is all coming off topic, we were talking about kids being used as a catalyst to an end.

Are you that ignorant of the word "Jihad" muslims dont fight to be left alone, muslims fight for earth! They fight for their ideology believing that they must rid the world of heathens. If your going tog o outs of your way and be over-anal about a few christians coming at your door and offering you their faith, you have an option of saying yes or no. WHen a muslim comes to your door with a bomb...no there is no choice. I am not racist against all muslims, mind you, my closest friend, Hamad, is Muslim. But there is extremism everywhere, and when it pops up, and society is too advance socially or scientifically for a sudden extremist movement, the entire religion goes under a major change. Christianity, Judaism, Catholicism, even Bhuddism, all went under a major change to adapt to society. Muslim religion has little if no change in it's faith and doctrine since the middle ages. It is out dated, and thsoe that are willing to change and adapt to today's world are being overshadowed by the militant extremists who are old, crusty, and would never allow their over-paternal religion to ever change. Fighting for true freedom? I guess if I will wield the atom bomb in my hand and detonate it above your neighborhood, youd praise me for fighting for true freedom right, that freedom being the ever loving cold embrace of death.

the-blind-watchman In reply to SoothsayerAyzahar [2005-06-23 06:14:54 +0000 UTC]

hmm, ignorant. interesting. i guess i am ignorant. you know, going to university and studying politics and religion have made me ignorant. yea, thats it.

1) why have muslims never bombed sweden? i mean, they have the finest women? and thats a good reason to take over a country. and neither have they bombed denmark or new zealand (my country) or canada or australia or Germany or France.......actually, it would be quicker if i just name the countries that they have bombed - lets see (they also fit into a nice group too); namely those countries that have somehow affected muslims in a negative way. wow, that was easy.

2) and bombing houses to take over the earth? i think that went out of date at the start of the 1900s.

2) are you aware of how your administration is distributing mass paranoia through the media? probably not, because your watching fox 24/7. therefore what you preach is merely subjective proof, and has no substance.

3) Buddhism isn't so much a religion. and id like you to elaborate on this 'change' it supposedly underwent.

4) i would rather have someone revolt and blow up some of their enemies then have christians playing politics in the whitehouse. i admire courage against an oppressor. thats probably because i feel secure in a country that cant afford anything and has nothing anyone wants; and thus neither oppresses or is an oppressor. see, that is true peace.

SoothsayerAyzahar In reply to the-blind-watchman [2005-06-24 17:35:11 +0000 UTC]

Just because you study a religion and politics doesn't mean you can reason correctly. I studied history, and law...and even still I do not reason like everyone else. Muslims HAVE bombed France. They are going to eventually go for Sweden, don't kid yourself, they are infidels.

Oh yes our media, spreading its mass paranoia, hmm yeah, considering 80% of it completely liberal based.

and for number 4: your just an Utopian Idealist then huh...pointles to really continue then.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-blind-watchman In reply to SoothsayerAyzahar [2005-07-05 07:32:06 +0000 UTC]

After this I'm not going to reply; you are just one of those angry people that go around starting up unintelligent arguments for no reason.

I will call your bluff and challenge you to prove that you HAVE studied history and law. The first of which would not let you speak such nonsense as I have heard on this string, and the second of which would at least have improved your syntax somewhat.

'Muslims' (don't you mean extremists?) have attacked France? Back it up. I was under the impression you had studied history? Didn't you learn to quote all the information you use in an argument? And if they did; look into the context of their actions; were they aggravated in some way? Did France piss them off? Or did they do it to 'take over the world' as you believe? (I still don't see how suicide bombing is going to take over the world....????)

And by using the word 'infidels' to describe these people you have only succeeded in further strengthened your ignorant outlook.

80% liberal?? That would be my dream come true. But no my friend, unfortunately it is not so. Very little media (none save a few low scale local newspapers) are owned my liberals. Therefore the media portrayed within the mainstream is biased according to non-liberal gatekeepers: the owners. (maybe you should do a little research into this. for instance; tell me who owns Fox news, and then try to find out how many other media outlets this person owns. The results will surprise you. And no, this person is DEFIANTLY not a liberal)

And as for your Utopian Idealist:

Tis only in their dreams that men truly be free,
'twas always thus, and always thus will be.

Ares, the Greek god of war, had two sons named Phobos (fear) and Deimos (panic). Does this remind you of anything?

First off let me say that it is pointless for me to respond as well, but I will regardless. French Muslims have commited violent acts in France as [link] and [link] The only aggrivation I see is the fact that the people were Jewish.

Fox against CBS? NBC? CNN? LA TIMES? NY TIMES? TIMES? BBS? just to name a few.

i totally agree... but you should see these kids when they get trampled on after these protesters are disperesed... or when they get blinded by tear gas... or when they are accidentally hit by batons by anti-riot police. good cause or bad... i feel they shouldn't be forced to carry the burden.

i agree... they bring these kids as a sort of ad campaign, coz this subject would make for a good photo-op. but believe me... protests here turn into riots in a blink of an eye...

thanks for the comment dude, greatly appreciate it.

This is a good photo, congratulations on the DD - I personally see no point in young children being at a rally such as this - but there are reasons that they do, but the 'think of the/this is for the children' come rather... forefrontish.

Just exactly who are they fighting for? Something their parents might not even understand... this is life.

They bring kids along, as a part of their upbringing. I myself never was, but studying historical events, such as the IRA, Vietnam, Black Civil Rights, it in my opinion, matures the child better than say, the path I've travelled.

Just my opinion.
