Description It`s incredible when you do something the first time and try to fix it later on, it never lives up to the first try. This applies to so many things in my life, I imagine it must be the same for others as well. This piece, as you see it here, does not exist anymore, thanks god I scanned it.

Again: more Watercolour sketches, more Nativistic Art, more portrait close ups.

This time is the Amazon again...as I was looking at footage and pictures of Yanomami tribespeople for this sketch, I was wondering; If they wanted to travel abroad, what passport would they have? What do they think of our conventions and way of living? How would they feel visiting a supermarket for the first time?

Our natives have access to such things. It's part of a process, on which we show them stuff of our world so they don't get lost if they ever (for reasons unknown) want to wander around this side of life. But we don't shove down their throats (I think we did quite enough of that). We just... Show them around from time to time, without pulling them out of their culture. It sometimes works against us. They understand what money is, and its power of trade. And that is a source of conflict.

Congratulations on the painting, it's pretty neat and real. But ianomamis (as I recall) don't use leaves on their faces, they find it strange. Or are those feathers?

Thank u very much yes, I think the ornament coming from the ear is meant to be a feather - a green feather I suppose. To be fair, I need to learn more about the Yanomami (not sure how to spell it) and I feel stupid having them closer back then and not being adventurous enough to go visit them. Maybe that is my karma and I am meant to visit them later on.

From what you mention, you guys are being so much more intelligent and wise than other South American nations about the issue...maybe we should learn.

Well, they are very reserved and tend not to speak other languages, but generally friendly. You could do worse. You could end up in a CaiapΓ³ village, for instance. It would not be healthy...
