Amazingly, this drawing is was influenced by Christmas!I was bored on a bus to Camden in December...it was snowing and traffic was slow, so I pulled out my sketchbook to kill some time.
Looking at the snowing sky I started imagining an Angel flying above, surveying the city below - suddenly the sketch started to take a life of its own and I didn't want to interrupt my creative flow.
If this gets popular enough I could make a pastel version, but I doubt it would be as lively as this one!

I wondered about the 09 on her shoulder that looked like the numbers you'd see on a sporting jersey. But then I recalled your title.
When it snows enough to slow traffic the sky is not blue or clear.This angel looks like she's coming out of snow filled skies. I rather enjoy the fact that it is not coloured. It really suited the weather,the mood and what you're feeling at that time.

I love Vancouver, it's my favourite city in North America, period. I loved the food, the people and Robson Street (Is that the name?). At the time I had to extend my student Visa and instead of Toronto I was sent to Vancouver to visit the American Consulate/Embassy over there. I thought Vancouver had snow quite often!

It varies.I actually live out in New Westminster,which is 30 minutes out and we can see more snow than Vancouver. My brother who lives in Richmond,20 minutes south of Vancouver,can see little to no snow even if it's snowed that day!
Robson Street is the name, and is our shopping street, although South Granville is catching up to be quite the High Street for shopping too.

I think this is very pretty. The emotion it evokes is very calming. I think it'll look gorgeous in colors, too.

Not necessarily. I've loved many of your colored pieces too. I think that it depends on what you're drawing. For this piece, the lack of color works, it gives it a sort of "frozen in the middle of movement" effect. But you can rock colors too. Your Ill Will piece is just as good as your Song of Devotion one, trust me.
