Description
I was told years ago in Art History class that in Chinese Art, horses represent the peoples of China; in contrast to the Dragon or the Panda, which are respectively symbols for Imperial China and the People's Republic.I was meditating on the above last week while I ran into an equestrian statue in East London. As I was drawing I started to think about The sheer unfairness of society as it stands at the moment.
We live in times when the High-Flyers and "Gods" of the banking sector get away with ruining people's lives without any accountability or punisment. Our governments go to murderous wars to pillage other countries in our name and without our consent.
As a result of my socially-conscious meditation, the drawing started to turn darker and darker. As things stand now, we are facing a dark future and I truly feel sorry for students today as they will have to work really hard to pay in taxes for these rats' carelessness...if they are lucky enough to find jobs.
My Art History professor was right: A band of horses represent not only the people's of China but the peoples of the world. An opressed nation is like a horse born to run, but whipped to work endlessly. Horses are sometimes harnessed to carry their masters into battle, just to find an unjustified death in the battefield.
In the other hand, a horse can throw the rider of his seat and run free. Also, few things in nature are more powerful than a stampede...and maybe this is what masters fear the most: an unstoppable band of horses stampeding into an open field.
Horses are born to run free. How foolish to stand in the way of their destined freedom.

Hahaha! nice to hear from you, work is giving me a beating too - Summer is over and the farthest I went this year was Newcastle! I think I will definitely stick to black and white...I'll do a few more horses too (Dramatic Horse ...that's gonna be the name of my next piece - whatever it is, hahaha!)
Take care

Summer actually came? Damn, I must have missed it when I popped to the bathroom that time
Newcastle eh? Think yourself lucky mate. The farthest I went outside of London this year, was a weekend in Cambridge!

Well, last weekend was unbelievable in terms of weather...but we're back to rain now Cambridge it's alright, I have a friend who's living there at the moment and he's loving it. European Holidays are a thing of the past - with the current economic climate a trip to Swansea by National Express is the new Barcelona by Easyjet!!

I love your picture, You comments are thought provoking, and we could surely use some thinking right about now. This country is in a downward spiral, the stampede cannot start too soon.

Well, Britain is in no better position at the moment. I think people are really fed up and things like Anonymous and Wikileaks are picking up.
Thanks for visiting!

Solid work, my friend -- on the drawing and the ruminations of the banking cabal that runs this war planet.

Thanks for visiting and reading. I believe we are at a crucial moment; people had enough of an unaccountable upper crust that gets away with bloody murder (literally!).
