He's going strong but he is still kept in line. The one thing he can't seem to overcome are super humans. They always fuck up his plans. Deadpool royally screwed him recently and set back his vampire nation considerably.Β

It seems Dracula just can't win, it a universe WITHOUT super humans he gets his undead ass handed to him by cunning normal humans who can still take advantage of his inbred arrogance when the going gets tough, And in a universe WITH super humans he seems much more powerful but still can't afford to risk going toe-to-toe with the heavy-hitters! A fitting punishment for him all things considered...

In one alternate universe Dracula did win. He converted everyone into vampires including all the heroes and villains but the problem was they went out of control and decimated mankind. Without any blood to sustain them and no alternative except slowly starving to death Reed Richards built a bomb capable of vaporizing all of them to ended their nightmare existence.Β
No matter what Dracula will always be opposed. Even by his own kind he has guys like Deacon Frost constantly plotting against him. So no matter what Dracula will always be in a struggle.

Hmmmm, Dracula once said something along the lines of "I realized if that if taking over the world was THAT easy, I'd have done it AGES ago! Maybe that's the REAL curse of Dracula. He can never lose because he always comes back from death no matter how close his enemies come to finishing him off forever but he can never win because he's surrounded by enemies who might just get lucky one day and manage to do just that!

Yeah Dracula basically told that to General Torgo when Torgo was vampire lord and laid out his plans to Dracula before their duel. Torgo wanted to overtake humanity, breed them like cattle for food and let vampires rule everything.Β
Dracula enjoys conflict. He lives for battle and fighting. It's the only thing he still feels true passion for. He knows he will eventually win because he will always outlive his opponents. Even if he dies he is almost always brought back because even dead he is still vampire lord and still has vampires loyal to him as well as human thralls.Β
Also if Dracula does die he literally has no place to go except limbo or purgatory. He's banned from both heaven and hell.Β

I must admit, if I were a Vampire I would have thought Torgo's plan could have actually worked! (For VAMPIRES of course, for HUMANS it would have seemed like a very bad plan indeed! LOL) I wonder why Dracula decide it wouldn't have worked? You'd think he'd have at least TRIED it, and THEN Β decided it wouldn't work once it stated to backfire...
I think the reason Dracula enjoys conflict, battle and fighting is because it's pretty much all he's got left! As a Vampire, he has an uncontrollable urge to hunt so why not make a game of it so he can derive some semblance of pleasure from it! Plus, Dracula is too proud to admit there could possibly be things about being a Vampire that he DOESN'T like, so even if he actually HATES being a Vampire he'd never dare tell anybody! Maybe that's why he considered Quincey Harker to be an "old friend" despite the fact that they were constantly at each other's throats! Dracula needs worthy foes to take his mind off anything that he doesn't like about his life! Everyone else just does whatever he tells them no matter what! Now that I think about it, I get the feeling Dracula fears that he'll become like Varnae and things will go so well for him his life will get so bland and stagnant suicide will start to look good to him!
I think purgatory might be a greater punishment for Dracula than Heaven OR Hell because it's almost like the universe itself is telling him that he's not worthy to be rewarded OR punished because he's nothing more than parasitic SCUM, a lower form of life... Maybe even outright VERMIN. And for someone as proud as Dracula, that must be downright PAINFUL. He used to be a great leader! Now he's technically still a leader... But with a different army... And the only reason they do what he says is because they LITERALLY can't say "no"... Even when they really want to...

You seriously need to get a hold of the Essential Tomb of Dracula books because it would clear up all this misconceptions you have. Also I feel like we keep covering the same ground so Iβm going to start skipping stuff we already covered.Β

It seems I'm becoming like all those D.C. fanboys who think Aquaman is L.A.M.E. just because he's not quite as powerful as Superman and doesn't have enough cool gadgets like Batman. If I ever see The Essential Tomb of Dracula on for a decent price I'm going to have to get it if I can because from what I've learned here it's just to interesting to pass up!
