Description
This is VENOM agent Nash Gorey. Nicknamed the Goon, Nash uses his considerable genius, skills and talents as VENOM'S electronics and computer expert to maintain the group's vehicles, masks and other technology in proper working order as well as build and develop new weapons based on the stolen MASK technology plans developed by the late Andy Trakker.
Nash VENOM’s surveillance expert and has considerable skills in computer hacking, gathering intel and compiling data which VENOM uses for gaining ultimate power and riches.
Nash earned his nickname the Goon by being a bossy, unrepentant lackey who practically worships Miles Mayhem as a god. No matter what Mayhem says Nash considers it brilliant, agrees with it totally and follows any order given to him by Mayhem to the letter and without question. Nash will go out of his way to bully, lecture or berate other team members about following Mayhem’s orders and insists they should all be grateful to have Mayhem as their brilliant leader.
Nash's constant bootlicking, pushy, arrogant demeanor and his insistence of trying to boss his teammates around causes the rest of VENOM , especially Bruno Sheppard, to have an intense hatred of Nash who seems to revel in pushing their buttons knowing Mayhem won’t let them kill him because his talents are too valuable to the team.
Nash Gorey has the distinction among VENOM’s main agents to be the only one to ever successfully pose as a MASK agent and infiltrate the team as a mole on his first mission. Though the ruse was short lived and Nash didn’t learn any of the MASK agent’s secret identities his part of the mission was successful despite it’s ultimate defeat at the hands of MASK in the end.
Nash Gorey wears Powerhouse mask (formerly called Samson mask) which can envelope the wearer in an invisible sheath of energy that acts like a strength enhancing exoskeleton as well as an ultra thin force field which protects the wearer from physical injury as well as boost their strength to superhuman levels.
At full charge Powerhouse can allow Nash Gory to lift 10 tons under optimal conditions. He has been shown throwing massive boulders, ripping armored doors off their hinges, shattering solid rock with his fists and hefting heavy machinery and vehicles with relative ease.
Nash Gorey pilots Outlaw a black 1985 Snake Oil Petroleum Freightliner cab-over oil tanker that converts into VENOM’s mobile command center. The strongest and most heavily armored vehicle in VENOM’s armory, Outlaw is the nerve center of any operation the team is on.
Outlaw’s 5000 gallon tank shell itself folds open from the truck bed and becomes a vertical observation tower with twin high powered radar dishes that can track multiple targets as well as send jamming signals to throw off enemy radar and targeting systems. Outlaw also contains sophisticated computer, scanning and observation equipment that can monitor, record and decode enemy communications.
The tank shell conceals a multi-purpose self-propelled “Rattler Fire” howitzer that can fire a number of projectiles that range from lethal to non-lethal depending on what is needed.
Outlaw’s pump and generator control panel slides open from the driver’s side of the truck frame to become a cockpit with a tilt up computer bank used to control Outlaw’s various weapons and surveillance systems when parked. Outlaw carries a portable high powered generator used to power its systems when on extended deployment or to boost its radar and surveillance systems range.
Outlaw’s interior cab is a heavily armored turret that rises up when the armored steel cab shell flips forward and its roof flips open and becomes a ramp/scoop. The turret contains a high powered canon that fires a four prong steel grappling hook and cable used to snare vehicles which allows Outlaw’s powerful winch pull the vehicle into Outlaw’s scoop. The winch is powerful enough to pull a fully loaded armored car into its scoop.
Despite its bulk Outlaw can travel at a top speed of 100 mph on an even grade but it’s speed is reduced to around 70 mph when it’s observation tower is raised. All ten of Outlaw’s tires are bullet and puncture proof.

I could go either way but Samson was definitely less of a mouthful to yell to turn the damn thing on
I guess they wanted the name to really nail down what the mask's power was and powerhouse is a lot more clearer than Samson if someone doesn't know who Samson was.
I was the same with the original name for Hondo's Hurricane vehicle. I thought it's original name Nightstalker sounded way cooler but unless they painted it black instead of turquoise with yellow flames it didn't look like anything that would be stalking the night unnoticed.

I'm loving your character writeups, by the way. Do you plan on eventually completing the series?

Yeah eventually. The thing holding it back is lack of time right now. I have to catch up on my commissions and get some other things done but don't worry I will eventually get to all of them.

Sweet. I noticed you're missing one last Venom character who's one of my personal favorites.

"No matter what Mayhem says Nash considers it brilliant, agrees with it totally and follows any order given to him by Mayhem to the letter and without question." I could use a minion like that
Awesome picture, as always!

He is the ultimate minion in that sense. If you want to see an example of what a dick he is this is his first appearance in the cartoon. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ha-TF4…
Thank you very much

Will repeat like a broken record - shame MASK was not like this - as quoted by one critic - "It has all the good points of G.I. Joe and Transformers - without the bad points!"
Great series...

I'm the same way. Had certain things been done differently that show would have been as popular as G.I. Joe had they stuck to the basic blue prints of the show bible itself and stayed true to original concepts.
I almost wish Cartoon Network would do for MASK what it did for He-Man. New cartoon that fleshes out the originally concept, takes it seriously and makes it awesome.
I honestly have no faith in a live action adaption anymore after the shit bombs Hollywood has been dropping on us regarding 80s cartoon properties.

I agree so much here - alas its not going to be treated with kindess - just utter bollocks.
Look at TMNT - more like WTF? And Transformers? Urrgh...
MASK competition still on?

I know, that last TMNT movie was shit. Everything Bay touches from my childhood becomes a crap fest.
I don't know, I'm still thinking about it.
