These guys… am I right?

I’ve always loved Spider-Man’s villains so when they form a team I am all for it and the Sinister Syndicate has by far been my favorite.

Basically these guys banded together not for revenge or to conquer the world anything the Sinister Six or any other villain organization wanted before them.

They just wanted to get paid for their efforts. That’s it, financial security and maybe gaining a decent reputation in the underworld along the way.

So they banded together to become a mercenary team for hire and before in-fighting and some really bad screw ups on some of the individual members parts they were pretty successful.

Since one of my favorite movies is The Usual Suspects I decided to make a tribute to the film and one of my favorite villain teams at the same time and this is the result. I used the original 1995 movie poster for the poses and look of the piece as well as used the same font/logo design from it for the group name.

Weirdly enough the original five members of the Syndicate have some eerie similarities to the five movie characters I used for their poses. If you’ve seen the movie and maybe read the comics with the Syndicate members you can make those connections.

Even though the ranks have changed drastically over the years I still love the originals and the mini series The Deadly Foes of Spider-Man that was dedicated to telling their story.
