Five years after their arrival on Lithos, the colonists successfully established sustainable colonies on the planet's surface. By continuously pumping groundwater, they created a substantial lake, roughly comparable in size to Earth's Lake Balaton, which emerged as the focal point of colonization. While a handful of communities had already taken root around the lake, their populations remained relatively stable.
