This is absolutely racist. How can you have any fulfillment from art by tracing figures? Donβt be a tracer. Trust me people, itβs much more meaningful when you sweat and struggle through art.

Thank you for making a tutorial that shows a tracing technique that's actually useful. I've only seen two others and they both are pretty much, "find a stock image, trace the pose and change some things."Β
I use my own pictures for backgrounds all the time and it's never occurred to me to use this method for complicated poses.

Yo Dox, I took your tutorial to heart, especially on the "theft" statement since I always associated the need for tracing as somewhat inauthentic for art. Of course, I can now see that this is completely different.
I'm doing an interpretation of Space Patrol Luluco using posed DesignDoll figures, and so far, it looks pretty cool (albeit there are some spots which need work).

Been using manga studio for drawing models so far, thanks for introducing me to what might be a better program. Love the idea of blurring the lines so that you aren't relying in it as much, I find that using a low powered light box has a similar effect.

I have been using the 3d models in manga studio so far as drawing guides. I will try out Drawing Doll for its models to see if it is a better program for them. Do you understand what I mean now?

You take a screenshot in program, open the screenshot as a new layer in whatever art program you use, and work from there.

That wasn't what I was asking. Β I was curious how doxy came across this software. Occasionally I see other artists bring up really cool resources. I want to know how they found those resources. Like where is a good place to go to be up to date on neat stuff like this?
So if it was by luck, then oh well. IF not and it was some forum or website, then I was hoping to know for I can have really neat tools as well to help me in my artistic endeavors.
