1. Squid Wood (Honestly, I think this episode is worse than Good Neighbors, because of how much it angers me as I watch it).
Overall: Pretty decent season. There are some episodes I liked and some I hated, about equal amounts for each side.

I agree. I honestly think that Season 5 is better than Season 4 though. Season 5 has more good episodes than Season 4 (Some of my favorites from the whole series) but also more imfamously bad episodes. I guess the good episodes just stick with me more than the bad episodes in that season.

I personally like 4 more because it only had about 5 episodes I didn't like and 5 had about 12 episodes I didn't like.

I can definitely understand that. Season 5 was the season growing up that made me realize something about the show wasn't right. Season 4 had a few bad episodes, but I thought it was a few hiccup episodes. Season 5, with its group of awful episodes (ESPECIALLY Fungus Among Us, which was the first Spongebob episode to actually disturb me, and Altantis Squarepantis, which was THE episode when I knew the show was starting to decline in quality), can definitely let anyone down. I do agree with what you said in the season 5 review board though that Season 6 was the first season that I legitimately hated, and is the season which made me personally give up on the show.

I gave up on the show about half way through season 7, but I went back to see how bad it got later.

Late reply, but yeah, to be exact, when I finished watching Truth Or Square was the moment I quit on the show (A big reason why it is my most hated episode/special on the show). The entire Season 7 was absolute trash, so good thing you skipped it. Season 8 however wasn't as bad as Seasons 6-7, there are still some abysmal episodes, but at least there are some more bright spots (Treats!, It's A Spongebob Christmas). Season 9 is even better (Evil Spatula is legitimately the first Spongebob Episode to make me laugh hard since Season 5) and I feel that the show is getting better with it.

Even though 6 and 7 sucked they did have about 10 good episode within them. 10 good out of 50 is a bad ratio though.

My least favorite episode of the season was Gift of Gum.

Even as a kid, I saw problems with good neighbors. It was just eleven minutes of Squidward torture, with a thin premise to anchor it.Β

I thought the worst season 4 episode was Good Neighbors, I mean although I did find All That Glitters a god-awful Spongebob torture episode and I completely understand why you rated it the worst, Good Neighbors' level of torture was done worse with Squidward. Spongebob and Patrick are so unlikable and ignorant as they ruin Squidward's relaxing Sunday, also the giant robot Easter Island Head house gag was stupid and not funny at all. In All that Glitters, Spat comes back to Spongebob- I guess resolving the conflict (still lame I'll give you that), but Squidward in the end was given jury summons to do community service every Sunday for life and he didn't do anything to deserve this- so Squidward's problem was not resolved, and it just makes this episode more frustrating to watch. Again, I'm not saying you're wrong in rating All That Glitters as the worst, but I just think Good Neighbors is worse by at least a hair.
