Description As with all iterations of the Special Purpose Assault and Recon Operations armour, Model-IV provides three variable protection packages for the wearer to choose from. Each variant is provided as a tailored set to an individual, which at present only encompasses combat operators of the 23rd Guard's Battalion, known as Ravens. These packages refer only to torso, upper arm and groin protection armour. Armoured leg components, gloves, boots and CONDEV units remain unchanged.

Scout - The lightest variation of SPARO-IV armour, Scout offers the greatest mobility at the cost of overall protection. Despite having the lowest protection rating of all SPARO-IV variants, Scout armour can still offer protection against fragmentation and ranged rifle ammunition. At close range the effectiveness of the armour's ballistic quality is greatly reduced against even non-armour piercing rifle ammunition, but will stop pistol rounds or shot pellets fired from less than six feet indefinitely. The armour is also stab resistant. Scout armour is manufactured from multiple layers of ballistic fibre with strategically placed composite components in the chest, abdomen and back areas. Arm protection consists of Kevlar spaulders extending to the elbow, while pelvic protection consists of a hanging Kevlar groin protector with a boron carbide insert. The padded memory foam inner layer of the vest is tailored to snugly fit the wearer.

Operator - Often considered the middle road armour of a Raven, the Operator variant is the most widely used, offering the best balance of protection and mobility. Operator armour greatly improves upon the protective qualities of Scout by relying on segmented components of ceramic composite with boron carbide and ER fluid bladders coated in ballstic fibres, which extend throughout the entirety of the torso armour. Larger reinforced spaulders and separate rerebrace components provided greater coverage of the arm and shoulders. Neck protection also extends directly to the Mk.2 helmet connector. Pelvic protection consists of a reinforced 'diaper' unit that protects the groin and buttocks. As with Scout, Operator is lined with tailored memory foam to improve comfort and snugness.

Frontline - The heaviest SPARO-IV variation, Frontline is a dedicated assault armour designed to provide the highest level of protection at the cost of some mobility. Frontline armour incorporates similar composition to Operator, only with thicker components and more extensive reinforcement in the shoulders. Larger spaulders connect directly to the rerebraces, which also connect with the torso component and CONDEV units to create a fully sealed unit down to the waist. The 'diaper' protector is equipped with flexible front and rear ballistic faulds to improve coverage of the upper thighs. Frontline armour is also unique for its implementation of electro-reactive armour, allowing a powerful eddy current to be discharged across the surface to violently reduce the velocity of incoming rounds, and thus their energy. Like its siblings, Frontline is tailor-made for its wearer.

Hehe, low circulation only I'm afraid, given the price tag

What do you mean by "low circulation"?

In-universe the only people authorised and provided with these suits are Raven SF operators, of which there are only 500. They get one of each variant and all are tailor made for the individual.

Once a newer, more advanced suit model is developed and replaces the current, the replaced unit is pushed on down to a lower tier of SF and goes into wider circulation as production methods and some degree of its tech decreases in cost. Widely distributed SPARO suits aren't tailored though. Just manufactured in various sizes. Eventually some of it is used to outfit general infantry.

Suits are updated roughly every twenty years.

Will there be variants to the SPARO-V armor? And will they look like this set?

V is in need of an update, as does the original IV pic at some point. I liked Vs helmet, but the rest of it felt like it lacked substance. ECE needs a similar overhaul to bulk it up a little/add some surprises, one of which is the vambraces.

But V will eventually have its own Scout/Operator/Assault variations. Probably get to work on them once ECE has been updated, since V takes a lot of things from it.

Chain of segmented plates running down the spine, and three plates either side to cover the back from shoulder to waist.
