Description This is old but I never posted it for whatever reason. I think it was done a few years ago when I was reading "Fast Freehand Fills" or some similar book, playing with my black paper 'pentallic travel' journal, and gelly roll pens. The numbers with the pics are the size of the gelly roll used. Since I was more likely to have my sketchbook than the book I decided to make myself a reference page in my sketchbook.

I love those types of books because I often see things or ideas I would not have thought of as well as it always amazes me how comforting and appealing nearly any repeating pattern is in print and to doodle.

I still feel the Uni-ball UM 153 Signo White pen is the *cough* penultimate. I do concede that I was disappointed by mine today as despite a still full ink section, I couldn't get it to write. I tried shaking it down, hot water, lighter, blowing from the open end of the ink section, pushing it down with a cotton swab (the ink was not dried up btw), and so on. Truly I tried everything until I actually broke it trying so hard to recover it. So I say you may need to keep your UM 153 in somewhat regular use to keep it 'good'. I also say if yours is 'dead' and you can't recover it you may want to keep the ink insert and use a tiny brush or toothpick to dip out ink from the open end when you want to use white on something like you would with COPIC or Deleter white. Unfortunately I did have that thought but because the writing side broke it was running out of the tube. But next time I'll be smarter!

My gelly rolls have never disappointed me (yet) but they are not as opaque the UM 153.
