I see a deep spiritual message in this that might not have been intended.
Twilight shows maybe the clearest example of the power of the controlling mind trying to force its way, fueled by negative emotion. Her energy shoots at Discord, but you see it strike her friends, too, mostly from Discord's head. True friendship empowers love and comes from the heart, while in this picture Discord is like an inner demon of Twilight, and her mental struggle with it gives it power and causes discord in her friendship, turning her friends against her and her against her friends.
The solution to this problem was eventually portrayed beautifully in her battle against Tirek when she allowed herself defeat and let her heart lead the way, against all conceptual fears.
Also, Pinkie has a duck in her hair.

Okay, that is amazing on so many levels! I mean seriously, this just just ridiculously good. I love the effects and feel of the entire thing. I also love the designs of the characters, especially all of Twilight's friends

It suuureee looks very epic, however poor Twilight do not stand a chance, she is just unicorn ( even if very strong ), and Discord not only seems to be stronger than Celestia but even turned Twilight friends again her.
Twilight need reinforcement fast, Celestia and Luna and meaby some guards help would realy be in hand right now.

It is difficult for me to describe how awesome this is. We need to invent a word that is able to convey massive amounts of badass in a single serving.

Well, this is pretty amazing and very creepy at the same time. Its too bad MLP:FiM is primarily targeted towards young girls 'cause this would have made the Return of Harmony episodes much more epic. I say good job!

I wish Rainbow would be able to go up against Discord alone. Instead she's turned against Twilight like the rest of the friends just like that. How heroic. Maybe it's all to do with Sonic, I don't know. But everyone (fans, show writers, probably even Lauren Faust) see her as a racer first and a hero second. I'd prefer if she was a hero first and a racer second. They're both forms of thrill-seeking behaviour anyways.

Mother of god... A thousand years ago a word was invented to describe incarnations of plain epicness like this one. It was then written on a scroll and buried so it could be used extremely rarely. Today is the day we'll have to dig it out.
