Description
For those of you who wonder where Samus Aran fits into the whole "Retro Video Game Icons as Power Rangers" series, this is for you. I first learned of Samus while playing the original Super Smash Brothers for Nintendo 64 before later being introduced to her as a first person shooter character in the very next generation of gaming. For me, Lost Galaxy seems to be like an introduction to the new age of Power Rangers, so, my idea is to cast iconic video game characters that started the modern era of gaming as the Galaxy Rangers. So, here we go...
Samus Aran and Joanna Dark, as I could see, seem to be like the right choices for the two girl rangers. Samus doesn't seem to have that jungle type like the Yellow Ranger in the season, but unlike the other characters in this photoshop collage, she was brought up by aliens and given alien technology, so I guess Samus can fit the role for Maya because she seems to be like someone who would be native to the Lost Galaxy.
Joanna Dark, the First Pink Ranger of the series, is cast here the same reason as James Bond. Joanna Dark was Rareware's original creation as a spiritual successor of the critically acclaimed movie-license game Goldeneye developed by Rareware to help pave the way to modern shooting games, making a decent mark on gaming history. Goldeneye and Perfect Dark gave the options of having directional buttons for moving and a joystick for looking like in modern standard shooting games or the classic control variations like in Doom series. In other words, those two Rareware classics were a transition between Doom and Halo. Unfortunately, the character Joanna Dark is cast as dies in the show.
Nova is the Second Pink Ranger. I figured out that between Space and Lost Galaxy, we need to have a female character who can be bad and good at the same time cast as Karone, aka, Astronema. Since I'm dealing with the more modern video game genres of First Person Shooter and Real Time Strategy, I figured I might as well pick Nova as the other Pink Galaxy Ranger since the Personal Computer can be seen as a rival to the consoles. Plus, her original debut was going to be Starcraft Ghost, but like three Rareware projects, Starcraft Ghost got cancelled.
Master Chief is the obvious choice for the Red Galaxy Ranger! I guess this means he's related to Jim Raynor. Funny.
Now, I was trying to decide whether it would be James Bond or Solid Snake that would be the Blue Ranger, and which of the other two would be the Green Ranger. Kai Chen's wiki description is something like a character that is always about the mission, someone that is a bit more stoic, like on the Lawful side of the Dungeons and Dragons alignment. For this reason, James Bond is cast as the Blue Ranger, or as Kai.
This leaves me with Solid Snake as the Green Ranger.
I haven't seen the show, so I couldn't get into much detail as to know who they are.

Red Master Chief equals Sarge (Red vs Blue) for me.

That's fine. Microsoft does acknowledge the popularity of RvB and Halo from time to time, so Sarge as the Red Ranger also counts.
Also, I recolored all of the characters so as to reflect how the Power Rangers always wear the same color casual clothes as their ranger uniform colors.
