Description
This is the part where I ask "Remember Nilus The Sandman", but literally NO ONE remembers this show, so I won't. XD Nilus The Sandman was a long forgotten Canadian kids show. It aired on the Canadian "Family Channel", which was a channel that I only ever watched when nothing interesting was showing on YTV or Teletoon. As such, I never caught this show during its initial airing. From what I can tell, it's about the titular sandman, Nilus. He travels into kids dreams and helps them work out their insecurities or issues. It's basically Nights Into Dreams, but if Nights was played by Robotnik. XD Yes, that's right! The voice of Dr. Robotnik from the Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog cartoon plays Nilus here.Anyway, this episode revolves around a young girl named Amy who dreams about going on a giant shopping spree at a mall. Unfortunately for her, she is given too much money to spend and if she doesn't spend it, SHE GETS TURNED INTO AN ANTHROPOMORPHIC RAT! Wait... How is that a punishment?! Being a cartoon rat would be cool! But nope, Amy wants to avoid this fate by spending as much cash as she can. She fails and as seen above is turned into a rather adorable rat. Unfortunately, this show is set in the world of dreams, so she just wakes up and everything is fine. DANG IT!
Not really sure what the point of these dreams having "stakes" is, since they're all inconsequential to the "real-world" of this show. Regardless, Amy's rat form is adorable! I have to give them props for giving her black fur and not making the rat form look identical to her human form. Much like Jasmine from the Aladdin animated series, Amy's rat form is way more adorable and visually appealing than her human design.
But yeah, this clip comes from the episode "Shop 'til you Drop", which you can find a clip of on YouTube. Surprisingly, all the episodes have surfaced online in some form or another. Is it worth watching? Ehhhhh, I dunno! This seems like a "one trick pony" kind of show and the animated bits only take up about half of each episode. The theme song is shockingly epic for what amounts to a "dream adventures of the week" show though.

What really surprised me revisiting this show is how it goes from typical scenario of the week and standard life lessons to actually having a plot in season two. And then it ended on a cliffhanger, like most story driven cartoons from the time.

I actually found that clip by pure accident. Had no damn clue what was going on but it was something interesting either way.

Remember how, back on the Cybersix page, I mentioned that the two of us probably remember a lot of stuff that most of the Internet doesn't because we're Canadian and they're American? Well, I've never heard of this show.

Same here, I only learned about this show through the internet and TF culture. I'd reckon only a small group of people remember this.
