Description
This one goes to www.furaffinity.net/user/jagal ! I was given the choice between several characters, one of which turned out to be Emhyr var Emreis from the Witcher. I quickly looked up his name, found out he's a rather ambitious ruler, and somehow, soon after, found myself sketching this strange composition out to this video, which I SO recommend you to watch while drawing.

The core idea revolves around holding onto power (see the expression and the grasping hand), the crown just beginning to slip off the emperor's lap. The hands and head are proportionally reduced to give a sense of subconscious unease alongside the rich, late night looking robe folding over and enveloping the sickly blue man, which is enhanced by the unrealistically large and, of course, partially abstracted chair blending into architectural elements at the bottom. I originally wanted to paint an entire citiscape down there, but it just wasn't feasible.
