very interesting piece. I can definitely see that you have quite extensive knowledge of bone shapes and how they connect together.
I wish it was a bit bigger, so I could see more of the texture and edges of the sculpture.

Awesome! I didn't know paper mache could do that either. Nice job

Thank You !
I was surprised as well about the smoothness and ductility of this papier mache.Unfortunately i donΒ΄t really remember the amounts of components i used
to make it.

My only attempts at making things with paper mache were in school, about a million years ago, and I remember it was cold, sticky, icky and very very uncooperative!

Dude.... Well, this does give me hopes for my paper mache project that's coming up - though I just know I couldn't make something like that...
Thank goodness all I have to do is make a big tombstone-thing for my room XDD How long did it take you to make, anyway?

Youre right,i think as well a tombstone from paper mache will be to do way easier than this, especially needs less attentin to the consistence and recipe of the papier mache.
As i can remember ( i done it in 1996) it took about
five or six days, because i didnΒ΄t apply all in one but
let it partially dry before working on it again.

Congrats, man.

Holy crap, i had no clue paper mache could do that, that's friggin awesome! It looks like real bone! This is a def and i'm going to check out your gallery now hehe. I want to try this now, lol.

Maybe I have to make a papier mache tutorial here,
because there are so many questions about it.
I could make my recipes public, but unfortunately i partially forgot how i done it for this sculpture.
I never received a mass with this fine ductility again.
ItΒ΄s a wide field for experimentation with different materials .

that is gorgeous.. and only made from paper mache?

Thank You !
Not only papier mache,itΒ΄s built over a wire construction
for receiving stability during that papier mache is still wet.

i understand that there is a metal frame but I've never got my paper mache to be so smooth before!! you'll have to teach me one day

If computer mice had skeletons this would be the fossil of one of the firsts.
Very creative. You show amazing skill! Keep works like this coming. DA needs the freshness.

It's interesting to see how diverse art can be; this is probably the first sculpture used with papier machΓ© I've seen on here.
It looks very expertly done, too.

I really like papier mache.ItΒ΄s cheap, no industrial hi-tech product, just boiled newspaper and some special ingredients, almost pure recycling of the
residues of printed information.

OooOo i can't believe that's paper mache; it looks like a real skeleton good work. although i'm secretly disappointed because from the thumbnail I thought you had killed Mickey Mouse (i know, i'm weird) ...
hahah oh well~ awesome piece.

Really interesting, and realistic looking too (besides the steel ring, but it's like a mounting base so).

morpho2012 In reply to WolfOfSahara [2005-07-20 15:41:40 +0000 UTC]
Thank You ! The realistic look is more a result of a
deticative working process than wanting to do a
" realistic looking product "
