Description My oldest colour portrait of Beleg Cuthalion ( transformed later in winter fir forest landscape with smaller figure of Beleg in the distance [link] ) - on the road to Amon Rudh, with Anglachel and Melian's lembas.

He seems rather disproportional and... posing. And of course, I do not really know how to paint weapons ( let alone how "to draw" them )

You weapons are awesome! For not knowing how to draw weapons you sure are pretty good at it. It's a very nice job. I like your style of elves, it's your own style yet it fits them very well!

How very flattering! The weapons are not mine - they're Beleg's (and any RPG fan would find what to criticize in them, I'm sure).

Thanks,thanks and thanks again!

There's nothing to criticize in the weapon, it looks to me as if it is a one-handed sword (because of the length of the grip), the blade is perfectly fine. I guess I'm just not seeing what's wrong with it. What do you think is wrong with it? The length? The width? I'm sure there are PLENTY of swords that people think that are perfectly fine that no one would be able to wield. (*cough* Cloud in Final Fantasy *cough*) Yours is perfectly realistic, and the stle of the sword depends on the artist's imagination in terms of all the decorations and styles. I like it! I can't see what's wrong with it.

Thank you so much for support and explanation!

I just meant that for once I tried to draw the sword, the belt and the scabbard as realistically as I'm able (it is a "close-up"and the details are important, I could not draw the scabbard at his side without any straps, just hanging in the air).
My style of drawing is amateurish and rather conventional, so I thought that those who know more about cold arms (and draw them in more realistic manner) would find some fault in it .

Of course the representation of arms and armour depends very much on the style, and there are plenty of swords that look like saws or tin-openers...
