not sure about the category...this is a mouse my cats caught quite a while ago. they didn't kill it, just played with it for a bit... it died of shock. so yes, it is dead in this picture.
just now getting around to scanning and editing the negatives.
black and white film, developed at school. colors in photoshop.

This is so sad. I have to lil' mice, Karma and Leto, and they're getting pretty old.. It'll be so sad to lose them.

i had a pet mouse a couple years ago. i found him in my basement while i was sweeping... i must've swept him up because he ended up in my pile. but he was just a little baby whose eyes weren't even opened yet, so i took care of him. i fed him puppy formula with a syringe, hah... and i put this tiny stuffed bear wearing my watch in his cage so it would feel like a mother (the watch was the heartbeat) he only lived for 3 months though. and towards the end his wild instincts started kicking in, like he was trying to escape all the time and would bite me when i held him (not hard fortunately) i love mice but it's hard to have small rodents as pets when you've got two cats... still, i was really sad when i discovered that he died

3 months really isn't too bad for a wild mouse that may have already been weak. Since the average lifespan for well bred mice is only about over a year. Yeah, having rodents is a challenge with cats, even if the cats don't do anything but watch the mice, I've heard that mice can have panic attacks and even die from non-physical taunting. :[ so sad. but I love my mice, especially karma, she'll just perch on my shoulder or nest in a little pouch I made her. awww, they're adorable! gosh, i love mice. but what i really want are rats. everyone thinks i'm weird for that. for some reason people don't understand that there's a big difference between wild rats and domestic rats... but they're really friendly animals and just want some lovin'!
main reason i'm holding out on getting any though is because i want a safe place to put them, that's separate from our cats. maybe when my brother finally moves out i'll steal a spot in his old room.. hehe...

i like how well this picture sets the mood. the tones help out with the sort of somber feeling, i think. poor mouse, although i've seen plenty of them around my house, courtesy of my cats.

Great picture, and good angle. But I can't help feeling sorry for that mouse. I've been a foster mom to lots of sick or ingured animals, and a good bit of them were mice like that one...... so sad.
