Description
It bugs me how people do digital art and tutorials which they think look like auroras, when they really look nothing like them. I know what they look like, and it took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to make one in Photoshop, so I made a tutorial.Related content

This is one of the best aurora tutorials I've seen yet - I used brighter colors and I feel I got the effect I'm looking for, so thank you.

Very nice tutorial, though I would only say that being from Northern Canada, they are usually much brighter in color with a small amount of purple at times.
Not sure where you are from so I can't say this isn't what they look like colour wise for you of course, but the shape and such is perfect. Very nicely done ^-^

I'm not sure if I did it as realistic as you did, but I felt like I had to make it brighter. Here is my outcome: [link]

I think you did a good job. Yours is a bit brighter than what I made mine, but auroras come in many different shapes and colours

Thank you That's why I ended up making one too, because no one seems to have done a proper tutorial on them before

yes, much agreed.
the ones I had seen looked like something out of some sort of galactic space tutorial, and then I saw this one and just thought it was perfect.
