Description
Painting in Oil on wood panel, 24x24 inches.Part of the "Airships and Tentacles" series wherein I combine lovecraftian and vernian themes, done in a sci-fi fantasy style with a lot of strange fiction overtones.
Most of tentacles in this piece are hidden within the flower blooms, as I wanted a warmer and less foreboding feel to this piece.

I'm going to have to say that this picture proved to me that you have an unique and recognizable art style, I searched for "lovecraftian" and saw this picture, I immediately recognized that it was the same guy who did the cover art for Vernian Process.

I love this. It feels like it could be a scene from Dream-Quest Kadith.

Your intentions for the piece work. The reds definitely provide a nice contrast to the cold landscape. However, you still manage to sneak some of your classic white tentacles at the base. I've been enjoying this series and can't wait to see more.

Thank you
This piece was for another painter, and she asked me to deviate from my acrylics and use oils - she also rather preferred the light color schemes of "The Rescue". Looking at how bright and colorful her own woks were, and taking into account that an artist typically paints things the way they like to see them, I really wanted some bold color in this one.
The prints and the painting have some shades of yellows and pinks to them which do not show through as well in the web graphics.... and I had to get some tentacles in there to go with the theme. My favorite tentacles are those hidden within the blooms of each f the flowers
