Description So, after talking about microwave cakes with , I just needed to make my favorite, adapted version. This time, I added blueberries, too! Maaaaaan, this cake is fantastic! And so quick to make. All you need is five minutes of time!
Soooo, here's the recipe:

4 tbsp flour
4 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp cocoa (I love dark chocolate, if you like it sweeter, use 2 tbsp)
1 egg
3 tbsp milk
3 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp chocolate chips
2 tbsp blueberries (I used frozen blueberries)

Stir all ingredients together well, fill into one large cup or two smaller cups or wide glasses (I used two whiskey glasses), the cup/glass should be a little over half way filled.
Microwave for about three and a half minutes.

And there you go, quick and delicious chocolate cake! The most dangerous thing about this recipe is: chocolate cake is now only five minutes away!

Yeah, things seemed to last longer. But of course they were more expensive, too.

I've not tried baking in the microwave yet, this looks like something I have to try!

Beware, though. It's such a quick and easy recipe, it'll make you crave chocolate cake a lot.

Ok, I love you now!

Just a question. Is there another ingredient I can substitute maple syrup with? Because I live in south america, and can't purchase it.

Thank you!!

You can just leave it out completely, I only added it because I love it. You should probably add a bit more milk or butter to make up for the lost syrup. You could also use liquor or any other syrup instead, or maybe even orange juice.

Easiest, quickest recipe EVER! And very yummy too.
I baked them for 4 minutes, and it was ok . Next time i'll try 3 and a half to get a more fudgy texture. And I used coffee liquor and nuts

Thank you!

Oh, coffee liquor, that sounds awesome! There are so many ways to vary this recipe. I'm glad you liked it!
The cooking time depends on your microwave's power. I have two microwaves here (not mine) and one of them needs about 2.5 minutes while the other needs 3.5.

What's the final texture? Sort of like a cake, or a bit more gooey?

And yes, I like it a lot

It should be more like a cake. It's a bit gooey inside if you don't cook it long enough. I like to add the chocolate chips because they make it more gooey in the end.

Great! Thank you!
I must say that after it cooled down a bit it's even better

Soon I'll try the cookies you made for the holidays. I'll tell you how that goes.
Just a last questions... do you have a recipe for a quick pudding. Sort of like this, cooked really fast, but, pudding like? (What can I say, I'm a sucker for warm gooey desserts )

MyntKat In reply to PalomaDyz [2010-04-18 23:13:47 +0000 UTC]

I actually kept one of the cakes in the fridge for a day and then heated it again for a minute, it was awesome, even more moist and squishy.

Unfortunately I don't have a quick pudding recipe, but I'd love to have one! I loooove warm gooey chocolate pudding. I have a quick recipe for fudge, though.

You can make it with much less ingredients... but somehow I can never stick to recipes, I always have to add my own spin to it.
