I thought I was trying to figure out how does his painterly images, but after I saw the image I'd chosen and what I'd done with it, I realized that it was about a dear friend who just had a very serious automobile accident. Tomorrow I'll be driving to see her. Makes me think that this probably happens more than I even know. Not art as therapy though... for I dislike that idea.Related content

i hear you 100% about the "therapy" thing.
not that "art as therapy" is "bad"-it is just -
yes-i hear you. some people ask if i do my work as a way to accept or "use as therapy" my work. NO.
it is far more than that.
it is a life work-and much much more than therapy.
i am so sorry about your friend though and send a

Happy to know someone gets it. 
My friend is better....still needs lots of 'get well' time but is at least off ventilator, talking and starting to be able to remember little things.

Just got back from seeing her. She's stillnot out of the woods but is doing way better. We'll go back in a week or two. Right now there are about a thousand friends and family there.

Thanks, just got back from seeing her. Lots of broken bones...many many... and other things wrong but she is recovering pretty quickly considering her car went UNDER a semi at fairly high speed. Whew! She remembered to lay down on the seat of the car..omg!

First I hope your firend will be ok. Second I like the idea of not being different (in an artistic way), seeing with slightly warpped eyes, noticing the unusual and letting my mind stretch to think the thoughts that others won't think...keeps life interesting

Sometimes our subconscious reflects in our acts much more then we realize...the intensity certainly shows here, the perspective pulls the viewer inside.

Thanks, faylin, I think she will be okay but it's going to take a lot of rehab, maybe even years. Her car ran under a semi trailer than ran a stop sign. Whew..lucky she survived.

God, that's terrible. I wish her lots of luck and hope, because I think hope is what she must need most right now. My uncle was in a terrible accident years ago, and one of his legs was broken 16 times. Yet today, he can walk normally again, after four years of rehab, lots of hope and love from his family. I firmly believe that your friend will be okay again, like my uncle was.

Sounds like what she will have to go through... lots of bone breaks...lots! .... and one of her lungs was crushed..head injuries and all. But I just returned from seeing her and she is much much better...still in bad shape but at least off the ventilator and able to speak.

That's great! It will probably take lot's of time (my uncle needed 4 years) but every small step is a step in the right direction, and I'm sure she'll be as good as new again.
