thanks. It took me so many shots to figure out the surfer moves. Cause I don't surf!

Great shot! I think it's lacking a little in colour or contrast though.
It's not fair, we don't get many surfers here!

This is a good shot. I like it. What were your lighting conditions like? I have two in my gallery that came out ok. The lighting conditions that I was shooting in were horrible. It was overcast and rainy.

Thanks. The light conditions were pretty overcast with light sometimes peeking out. I must have taken a zillion trying to get what they actually do and how they move.
I went to your gallery.. pretty cool stuff!

That's exactly how it all took place for me. I want to go back and shoot again when the weather is a little better and hopefully I will have my new lens by then. Tomorrow I'm ordering an 80-400mm VR lens. I think it will help.
Thank you for taking a look at my gallery. I'm very glad you enjoyed my work.

I'm buying that one and an 18-35 ED at the same time. I know the 80-400 VR is backordered though so I'm not sure how long it's going to take to get it.

I got a 10-20 mm zoom lens for Christmas. it's really fun to use.

Not you've got me wondering if I should get the 12-24 DX instead. I wanted the 18-35 so I could use it on bot of my cameras but I barely use my film camera anymore.

I don't know. I think one rarely ever need 12mm truthfully. I wanted to cover all my things and I have all zooms. I have prime lenses for my analog camera but they are difficult to work with on the digital.

I decided on what I'm getting. It's the 17-55mm F/2.8 DX ED.
I want to make sure that I have all of my focal lenghts covered. Switching from digital to film and back make that a little harder.

myrnajacobs In reply to Sularma [2006-01-31 16:09:38 +0000 UTC]
that sounds perfect. I just like to have all focal lengths covered too.

Sularma In reply to myrnajacobs [2006-02-01 04:56:15 +0000 UTC]
Yep, the one thing I learned though is that focal length isn't everything. Aperture is just as important. That's why I decided on the 17-55 because of the fixed F2.8.

myrnajacobs In reply to Sularma [2006-02-01 05:49:15 +0000 UTC]
OMG, yes. I'd take aperture above focal length any day! If I had to have one lens, it would be a 35 to 70 zoom with a F 1.4 or some such.
