*big smile. .. what a great comment. I will always be a student and there are times here on dA when I feel like a complete amateur! I do know a lot and can do more than I am doing even now. I need to be less lazy.
I always try to look at a person's gallery when they come to my space, comment or fave one of mine. That is generally how I find people. That and other's journals,of course. I can't recall how I found you but I thought it may have been 'citizenfour'... ??

Love, love, love how you composed this shot. Love that the landscape is the main feature in this beauty, yet the road pulls you in and keeps you there long enough to notice the sliver of car off to the left hand side. Outstanding!

Thanks. I love the line of the clouds as well. it was my favorite part of the photo...well, except I loved the poles too.

Yeah, good point, the poles are arranged in a nice way, make me think to notes on a music sheet

I think( is what I feel all ways wen I look your jobs) your work have this strange aurea of solitude and retro athmosphire. something compare like S. KubrickΒ΄s doctor stange love. or like kubrick used in his movies....large mute spaces .... it facinate me.
you have your self way to do it and I just used S. kubrick because is the more near example I found.
I love your job(deeper of my heart).

You have made my day! What an honor to have something like that said about my work. Have I told you I adore you. ;D
large mute spaces.... and Kubric did do that, didn't he... awesome observation and I'm still floating from your words.

guys like you are my reason to travel in DA hunnie.
and like S. k.Β΄s 2001 space odyssey mute choice scream more then if it was with sound, your work scream the same way with the large spaces or with your closes but misteriously hide silence. how match it screams in my mind belive me.
the retro stile you print in your job is superb too. as you see IΒ΄m a fan.

It does become a bit tiresome without music ...or a book on cd or tape.

music definitely helps to pass the time. what would a road trip be without music?

Steve Jobs must be related. Everything he touches turns to gold.

yes.. I'm sure he is somehow related... but perhaps only a minion.

Thank you very much. I know it is not 'you'... your taste. I love your work too.

Athansor In reply to myrnajacobs [2007-09-04 21:13:00 +0000 UTC]
As I've said before--that's one of your great strengths--your ability to move back and forth between so very many styles and tastes--while most of us just manage to do one well--if we're lucky!
π: 0 β©: 1
myrnajacobs In reply to Athansor [2007-09-04 22:07:49 +0000 UTC]
Thank you very much. I am conflicted about whether it is a strength or not... sigh...
I want to thank you for all the favorites. Very nice.
π: 0 β©: 1
Athansor In reply to myrnajacobs [2007-09-04 22:17:26 +0000 UTC]
Well...I certainly understand being conflicted about your work (generic "you", not you in particular!), but if you're good at all the different genres, then what's the problem? It's like that rare actor who doesn't get typecast--but plays villains and heros with ease!
Speaking as an actor--getting typecast is dull. I'm sure one of the reasons Harrison Ford took the part in What Lies Beneath, was because he wanted to be a bad guy for a change...but none of us were really INTERESTED in seeing him as a bad guy--we like him as a good guy!
I love the incredibly diverse group of watchers you have--and I think that's directly related to your diversity as a photographer, as well!
And you are most welcome--always!
(Don't worry...the conflicting times pass...and you'll just be back doing what you love, and to heck with figuring it all out. )

Ya know the first thing I noticed here was the telephone lines, I thought they had underground lines. Great shot. It reminds me of a line from a song "on a long lonesome highway east of Omaha."

myrnajacobs In reply to RileyRican [2007-09-04 21:13:55 +0000 UTC]
I suspect thisone was west of Omaha but the idea remains the same. The telephone poles are really what makes the photo.

I'd love to go on a road trip right now... but, I get to go to Paris in the middle of this month. I am trying to prepare but feel at a loss about what to take (clothes-wise)
