"Nero, Devil May Cry 4"FANART
This is Nero from Devil May Cry 4. Hes my favorite character from the DMC game series. Im so glad with how this turned out.
Drew this while listening to Nero's theme "Shall Never Surrender" on repeat lol. Love that song.

I get energetic from the hardcore first half, and i get all calm from the second half. Lol. I actually want the slow second half to play at my wedding. Its so pretty. <3
Nero isnt the original lead character from DMC, but he was introduced and was the lead character in DMC 4.
I love him to pieces. XD Hes got such a bigger heart than any of the other characters. And ofcourse, hes a smartass/badass who knows how to butcher some demon ass.
Haha.

3rd drawing done in Prismacolor colored pencils.
On and off this took me 3 nights to finish
Mostly cuz i kept messing up. I was nervous 80% of the time drawing this. Lol.
The angle of his jaw gave me the most problems.
Im not all that used to drawing ppl i guess and the angle made it even harder, my brain couldnt comprehend it for some reason. Took forever to get it right.
Btw i didnt use a ruler or anything to make his sword
im very proud that i made the lines look straight. Yay i can draw straight!!! 
I was scared to color it too, because i did all the shading already in graphite, but the prismacolor pencils were nice to me and didnt mess up the shading or anything.
Okay so i know i have alotta other stuff i should be doing,
but i hardly have any of my favorite game or anime characters in my gallery.
And i've been in crazy DMC mode after hearing about DMC 5.
Plus i've been wanting to do a portrait of a realistic game character since they are so pretty. Lol.
Im kinda sad that they didnt do another story on Nero in DMC 5, since they left so much of where he came from/how he came to be, a mystery. Plus i like him better than Dante, lol. Sigh... theres always DMC 6 i suppose

I wasn't entirely crazy about Nero (i'm predictable and lean towards Dante more lulz!) but I still enjoyed his character!
Then again I only played the first quarter of the 4th game so I don't know too much about Nero, but like I said, I still like him!

Everyone has their own opinion. I like Dante too, but 4 was the first game i played all the way through in DMC. So im basing most of that on what i saw in DMC 4.
Dante has a heart too, but Nero's seems bigger. Hes a softie. Lol.
I find that endearing in a character for some reason. When they are tough on the outside, but soft on the inside. XD
And he still whoops demon ass all over the place, in style. Lol.

His shoulder may be a touch broad. May. That was always one of my weaknesses so I can't say I'm 100% sure that I'm correct.
The differences in shading throughout the piece are kind of a throw-off. You should always aim for uniformity. What I'm looking at when I say this is that his jacket is shaded not only with graphite, but with the prismacolors as well. However, his face is not (or not that I can tell, anyhow). If you can keep the technique uniform throughout the piece, it will really pull it together and make it a very tight, strong piece!
And I see you're not afraid to make your darks dark. Bravo! That's one of the biggest problems many of my classmates - as well as myself - continue to struggle with.

His shoulders are broad, it is the style of the game. Though i cant tell if i may have overdone it or not. Lol.
I used graphite to shade his whole body, his face, even his sword. Everything.
What happened was, when i put the color i tested on a different paper for his jacket, it wasnt the color i wanted. So i had to layer 2 colors over the graphite.
Wich made it harder to color cuz im not used to blending over large surfaces. Lmao!
O.o i have a hard time getting my lines dark, i used to draw very light.
Even now you may think "Oh shes got it" >.>' i have to go over my strokes many times to get them dark because i can only be un afraid if i do it gradually. I erase alot so i cant go very dark till i know everything is where it should be. Lol.

My camera isnt the best, it blurs even normal photos,
I dont have a tropod,and my camera is flat so it cant be sat on something to take a pic. So i have to put all my art on a flat surface by a window, and angle myself over it away from other light sources, and stand as still as possible and take a pic. O__O Then i edit them with GIMP to brighten and bring back the color.
Yeah pain in the ass.
But thank you for your insight. Its really comforting to know i can rely on some ppl to give me their REAL opinion on my art. Rather than my family who say everything is "good" even if its a red bush eating a green stick man. Lol!

lol I know how you mean. I often end up doing the same thing with my 2D work because I'm a lazy bum. |D
And there is nothing wrong with taking so long to get so dark - it's actually a better habit to do it that way, then you don't crush the fibers of the paper. To shade in large areas, my professor had us go over it 3546843545684254254 bajillion times lightly. Yeah. lol

You know in playing that game I always thought it was a little odd you could rev his sword... but regardless really fun ^^ might actually get it... hmm probably shouldn't college will be hell enough haha November will be awful xD if you're aware of the single most awesome release that's happening...

You should get it though! If you miss playing as Dante
you have to play him to re-fight the bosses towards the end of the story.
