Description These are the smallest of the tree spirits I have done so far, measuring just 9 1/2 inches tall including the base. They are two friends dancing together, I mean they are trees, and the have to get along don't they? It's not like they can pick up and move if they don't like their neighbors. They are both sculpted from Aves apoxie sculpt and polymer clay, with rose quartz and amethyst gemstone leaves. They are on eBay now [link]

Those are some pretty expensive leaves! Or is it leafs? Leaves looks silly because it reminds me more of leaving then a leaf...
Anyway, doesn't matter, it looks really nice. I just wonder what the type of stuff you use to make these things is called in Dutch, because I haven't seen it in any hobbyshop before.... Just normal clay... And Fimo, but I already have a little bit of that.

lol It's leaves. At least that's what is grammatically correct. They can get kind of expensive, depending on the type of gemstone used. I would love to do one in baltic maber, but I'd have to rob a bank first.

The clay I use to make the trees is called an apoxie clay. It is a two part clay that when mixed together allows you approximately 1-4 hours of working time. When it is cured completely, about 24 hours, it is hard as a rock. You can break it if you really try, but it isn't easy. The thinner it is the more likely it is to break if handled really rough, but for the most part anything over 3/8 of an inch (1cm for you) is pretty hard to break. I love it for the strength, but hate it because of the short working time. One thing I love about polymer clays is that you can work and rework them indefnitely as long as you don't cure it.

This is where I get mine from: [link] they do ship internationally, but I don't know how pricey it is for shipping. I haven't found any stores that carry it, so always order it online. I use the apoxie sculpt for most things, but also use the apoxie clay as well. The clay is more expensive, but works more like a clay and the apoxie is more like a putty. Plus the clay has a shorter working time, between 1 and 2 hours, but it holds detail MUCH better.

Hope this clears up what the apoxie is for you!

Okay, thanks! That indeed was very usefull! Though, now I've seen what it costs and I do not have any idea what shipping will be... I think I'd better wait untill I have some more money before I order anything. So again, thanks for the info! Untill next time.

Thanks! Yeah they can be difficult, but mostly because of all the damned beads. The sculpting part is down right easy compared to that.

Sic a rabid llama on you! Muahahaha! But seriously, I'd much rather make someone feel inspired to do more art, than make anyone feel inferior.
