Description
Well, here is my well anticipated A3 version of Mother Barrows. It's actually taken me an awefully long time to do because of how slack I have been with other things.I can't say that I personally like this character as much as Father Barrows though I like to do things in pairs.
I'll be sure to continue doing A3 pieces though I think I'll be taking break for a while.

Oh dear gods this one really makes one hell of an impact....stunning... i love the pose, and the idea of haivng her reading from a book is wonderful! glad to finally be able to see this as it should be seen!

I think I may have overdone the contrast in this one a little too much as parts of it are really dark now - but it was only because otherwise the wings still wouldn't show up properly.

Well, such dark contrast often adds to the mood of pictures, creating a bit of mystery about the character when hiding details in shadow. For example, think of sillhouette art. The fully black figures that are portrayed that way capture one's attention, because the draw the imagination to fill in those details, and it just fascinates them even more : )

Thank you! I only ever use HB pencils in all my Barrows characters; I use HB because it has reasonable density and the lead is hard enough for doing very thin and detailed things.

Wow thats so beautiful done by HB (ever though of using charcoal its brilliant espaccialy on textured paper, by the way i love you concept design thing going on with the barrows could i draw some within the barrow style(or just your). oh and im watching you

Thank, I really appreciate it! Uh, I have considered charcoal, but I could never use it to do something nearly as detailed, plus I don't really like the smudges it makes.
I suppose if you really want to, I don't mind you drawing your own Barrows characters, just make sure you let me have a look at them if you do; I'm quite interested what you could come up with.

yeah it happens alot with charcoal(always goood to be preciest with them!)
Thanks dude! ill take in mind of all those key design within the barrow said(going to write them down on my ipod touch after a few secounds its in my ipod) the first could either be a barrow version of a grim reaper or a juggernaught( dragon style)

Oh I really like Mother Barrows design, and you shaded in those feathers (ferns?) really well. I particularly like the mask design

Man! I can't believe how good you are. To me, an A3 size it's not bigger enough to make such a fine details and quality, but you are doing it. Youre the best with this tool i've ever seen, honestly. I just love it!
